Chocolate Brownie

A couple of weeks ago we went to a friends house for dinner. It was my turn to make a pudding of some kind – so I needed something easy that would travel well and make an impact.  What better than chocolate brownies!20130915-082724.jpg

Out comes Nigella Lawson’s How to be a Domestic Goddess and her faultless recipe.  Its pretty easy, you have some dry ingredients and melt all the meltables into a liquid, mix them together and then bake.  And bake some more.  The thicker it is, the longer it will need in the oven.

I think its lovely, you get a rich, dense chocolate delight.  Yum!

  1. I made a lovely one from a Lakeland brochure last week lol, just substituting walnuts for pecans and marg for butter (got to be butter!) Everyone who tried it said it was the best brownie they had ever had! I should have asked if they had ever had homemade before as shop bought ones are never going to come close to any homemade recipe…
    Same method as Nigella:
    225g butter
    110g dark choc
    400g caster sugar
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    4 beaten eggs
    100g pecan pieces
    170g plain flour
    pinch salt
    1/2 tsp baking powder

    Bake 50 min

Might make some more this week lol xx
