Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effect – Top Splatter

Final polish from the Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effects to share with you today.  To recap this is the glitter on its one that we see in the coloured shades of  Ripped Tide, Lilac Rebel and Mint-Acid-Ittude in a clear base so that you can pop it over any polish you want or make jelly nail sandwiches.  Lets look at the pics.

This is over a base of Essie Hide & Go Chic, a demin blue creme.  I was trying to avoid doing white glitter on black or green.  Application here is super easy, this is two one swipe coats over the base colour. I only have one other pure white glitter polish, but the glitter is all the same size in that, so this is a nice variant.

Not much more to say really, its lovely and if you don’t have a white glitter in your stash then you might want to pick this one up.  Otherwise its probably one you can skip.

Let me know what you think and what colours you would team this with in the comments 🙂

Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effect – Mint-Acid-Ittude

Another of the Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effects to share with you today, this one is Mint-Acid-Ittude (the name oh my word the name!!) As the name suggests its a minty pale green shade.  Nice for a summers day (wish we had some of them around here!)

This is three thin coats over a layer of G&G Stuck on Blu! base coat.  Formula on this was was not as good as Ripped Tide, it might be because the colour is slightly paler that opacity took longer to build up. Topped with G&G HK Girl this really makes for a lovely, minty glitter sandwich.  Cute huh?

As per last time, I picked this up in my local Boots in a 3 for 2 deal, they should be hitting the shelves this week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Let me know which one if your fave to date, this or Ripped Tide?

Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effects – Ripped Tide

So, here we go.  My fave pic from the new Maybelline Color Show Acid Wash Effects nail polishes.  As you so from yesterday’s quick swatches, Ripped Tide is a bright aqua blue laced with white glitter in small to large pieces.  Lets get right to the pictures, I think you are going to like this!

What you see above it two (yes I said two) coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu and topped with G&G HK Girl.  I am blown away by how easy this polish was to use.  No fishing for large glitter bits, other than shaking the bottle before application, and the glitter didn’t drag off the nail as others are prone too.  Drying time was on the fast side.  Really fast.  The only issue I had was overhanging glitter which is easy to deal with (just push it back a bit with the polish brush)

These do remind me of the Polka Dots issued last year, just with white glitter instead of black and white.

I picked these up from Boots, where the 3 for 2 was still in effect.  They are on the Boots website, but last time I checked they were not actually ‘live’, they may well be by the time you read this.

Keep popping back this week as I plan on wearing as many of these as I can!  Let me know what you think in the comments.
