Spotted! Maybelline Color Show Limited Editions now in Poundland!

I was in my local Poundland, just doing a sweep to see what was popping up on the shelves, and I saw these little beauties! Look!  The three above are from the Stripped Nudes collection, the Brocades collection and the Street Artist collection.  I also saw some polishes from both the Neon Collection, the Vintage Leather collection and the Bleached Neon collections.  Not a full set either way and from what I can tell, these are European Editions, not US ones (where these collections in particular where larger, so more in the bleached neon collection), so none of those more elusive shades to be seen!

Have you seen these in your local pound store?  Did you pick any up?

Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons – Coral Heat

I’m still ploughing through my Bleached Neons.  I had a bit of a disaster, I updated my phone and laptop and the update (despite me backing up) ATE all my images from the last five weeks.  That is at least 30 manis I won’t be able to share with you and surprisingly a significant amount of stamping and nail art for once (honestly, I mean would I lie to you?) so I’m a bit peeved with myself.

Anyway, today I have Coral Heat for your viewing pleasure.

What you see above it three thin coats over a base of Essence Anti Split Nail Sealer and topped with HK Girl G&G. Formula was good but first coat was a bit draggy so I took it easy with coats two and three.  Its a great colour this, perfect for summer and something that it bright without being IN YOUR FACE and you know what I mean by those shades 😉

As I’ve mentioned before, these are limited edition and you need to make that decision NOW to pick these up.  I hesitated then could see the and then had to buy them when I started to see swatches appearing all over the place.  Lots of 3 for 2 or BOGOF offers knocking about Boots and Superdrug.

Did you pick these up yet?  Which one is your favourite shade from the collection?

Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons – Solar Flare

Up today is the second of the four Maybelline Colour Show Bleached Neons I have to share with you – this is the one i REALLY wanted.  This is Solar Flare and is a bleached orange shade – its reminds me of orange popsicles!  Lets take a look.

This is three thin coats over Essence Anti Split Nail Sealer (again still seems to be working for me, although I have a third of the bottle left and it has gone a tad gloopy) topped off with G&G HK Girl.  As before, they dry slightly on the matte side so if you want a glossy shine you will have to crack out a top coat.

Formula was slightly patchy on this one, hence three thing coats to provide opacity.  It is workable, it just needs some attention. You don’t want to rush this.  I love the colour, a washed out bright orange.  As I said above, its like a creamy orange popsicle.  Perfect on hot sunny days.

I was in the shops yesterday and they are still on the shelves, so if you do fancy them get them asap as they are limited edition.  RRP is in the region of £3.99 for the limited edition ones.  And if we remember, these were out very quickly after the Crystallized collection.  I am sure Maybelline has some stunners in store for us for Autumn 2014, so I can’t wait to see those!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments – yay or nay?

Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons – Chic Chartreuse

I really really wasn’t going to buy the Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons collection – I mean what do I want with pinks??? Or pasteley neons for that matter.  But there they sat on the shelves, taunting me and then fellow bloggers started posting awesome swatches and I was hooked.  Had to have them.  In fact I got all four in one of those BOGOFF sales in my local Boots.  But anyway, I digress….. this is Chic Chartreuse.

Ahhh just look at it!  So pretty on the nail, unlike in the bottle when its a bit *meh*

Formula was OK, it is a bit streaky, but this is two coats applied carefully.  When I looked closely I could see the odd dragging/bald spot, but seriously I can live with that.  Drying time was on the quick side and these do try a bit matted.  So I used some G&G HG Girl to top coat that to a glossy shine.  Underneath I’ve been using Essence Anti Nail Split Sealer as my base and it does seem to be reducing the incidence of nail peeling and splitting.  I may even get them a bit longer!

I have still seen these about, about they are limited edition, so if you want them, strike now.  There are four in the collection and I have worn them all (yes even the pink) and I do also think that they would make a nice base for some nail art or stamping too.

Do you have this?  Or did you give them a miss?  Let me know in the comments!
