Over at the British Nail Bloggers Facebook group, we decided to all take part in a quick group post looking at top and base coats that we all use. Its been really interesting to see what other bloggers use as their ‘go to’ base and top coats. Having been painting my nails for the best part of 20 years, I cannot recommend a good nail regime to prevent staining and promote good and healthy nail growth.
So, without further ado, here are my all time favourite base and top coat in a group shot. First up, G&G Stuck on Blu! Its blue, it dries super quick (and clear) and I just love it. Doesn’t dry out my nails and if you are worried about staining two coats can be used. I have also used this over other products such as Nail Envy and never experienced a problem.
You can purchase this either from Glisten & Glow (based in the US but international shipping is available) or the UK Stockist Rainbow Connection UK.

My top coat of choice is G & G HK Girl. I’ve been happily using this for over a year. I find that I don’t experience shrinkage and that the drying time is just excellent. Also, its not a smelly as Seche or some of the other top coats out there.
Stockists as before, but below you can see the big bottle I bought, and I reckon I will get a good 5 – 6 bottles out of this. Its been a godsend!
You can purchase this, both regular bottles and larger ones, either from Glisten & Glow (based in the US but international shipping is available) or the UK Stockist Rainbow Connection UK.

Honorable mentions have to go to my beloved Essence Studio Nails Better Than Gel Nails base and top coats. These are just great and work super well together. I find them particularly good for pedicures or for any polish that doesn’t seen to like HK Girl (and I’ll be honest here, its only about 2 polishes and I change my polish nearly daily). Only downside, you cannot see where you are in the bottle and you could find yourself half way through your nails and you are out.
Essence is well stocked in mainland Europe, and if you are off on holiday I suggest you just pick up a couple of these for the €3 or so they cost so that you don’t have to worry about packing your faves.

So there you have it, a very quick post, showing you my faves. Apologies for the oddness of the colour of the pics, I appear to have messed up my phone settings! I think its fixed now….
Do swing by and see what the other bloggers have been up to! :et me know in the comments your hits (and misses too!)
