Spotted! Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne & L’Oreal new shades

A couple of things to share with you from recent trips out. First up Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne is now available in the UK, with three shades of polish, all limited edition.IMG_7444
I also spotted that in Superdrug, the L’Oreal stands had been updated with some new images and new shades of polish.
IMG_7445
Yep, that does say wax and latex effect on the two shades on the right.  And yes, they aren’t new, we’ve seen them before in Boots.  So I’m not sure what is going on here… perhaps they are new to Superdrug?

This is the shade that is worn in the promotional image, 121 Royal Orchid.

So there we go, just a few things.  I did cave at the Chanel counter… so that will be up in a couple of days.  Want to guess which one I bought?

Spotted! Seventeen, No7 & Chanel Cult Reds & Christmas 2014

Man there is a LOT of new stuff out there….. warning, this is picture heavy!  First up, Seventeen have new Gel Colours, in a navy and a burgundy shade.IMG_6818.JPG
If you look at the promo image in the stand, there are silver sparkly tips. Didn’t see anything like that in my local Boots.
IMG_6817.JPG

There are a number if new No7 nail polishes out on Boots at the moment, its a good time to buy with a 3 for 2 on.

IMG_6820.JPGAnd to compliment the new polishes, some new Christmas limited edition shades in sparkly boxes.

Chanel – Fashions Night Out 2014 Sweet Star

A very quick and dirty post here – the images are not great, but I wanted to share with you quickly the new Chanel FNO nail polish for 2014.  This is Sweet Star and is very limited and available NOW in Selfridges and other Chanel Boutiques.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So is it silver or is it purple?  I don’t know.  One minute it looks silver with a hint of purple and then its purple with a hint of silver.

Formula – good, this is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped with G&G HK Girl.  Drying time was excellent. It is slightly brushstrokey, but it does dry less obvious and so a good top coat will mask some of that.

I am quite smitten, but as the collector I guess you expected that!

This will set you back £18 if you can find one.  Let me know what you think in the comments.

Chanel – Atmosphere

Image from Chanel.com

OK, OK – no judging.  I flew down south to visit the family and I HAD to pick with two of the A/W 2014 Chanel Collection Etats Poetiques.  There are three vernis shades in the collection.  Orage (navy with a shimmer), Secret (a pale nude) and then Atmosphere which I have to show you here.  Lets go straight to the pics!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

What you see here is two coats of Orage followed by one thin coat of Atmosphere.  It really acts as a shade changer and iridescent topper.  It does bit up some of the underlying shade and as you can see above, it has a really really strong duochrome effect.  Although I only used on coat, it went on evenly and cleanly drying quite quickly before I topped with G&G HK Girl.

I think it would look stunning over red too, so will probably try that next time.

Has anything from Chanel A/W 2014 caught your eye?

So there we go, quite a few new things to check out.  I’m kinda digging those MUA Luxe Glitter toppers.  I;ve not seen that much diamond glitter in the UK market in one line!

Let me know if you get anything in the comments below and have a fabulous weekend.

Chanel – 623 Mirabella

Finally!  Chanel Summer 2014 hits the UK. It always seems to be an age for the Summer collections in particular to hit UK shores and then we get fall collections quickly.  SPread them out a bit better people!  Anyway, this is the ONLY bit I have bought to date – Mirabella, the one that spoke to me from the Reflets D’Ete De Chanel range.

There are five, yes 5, polishes in the range.  Four are limited edition – Eastern Light (white, repromote from Asia), Sweet Lilac (lilac, duh), Pink Tonic (ummmm, pink) and this one Mirabella (orange). Only Tutti Frutti looks like it will make it to the core collection and its a pinky toned coral.

As you can see from above, Mirabella is a pretty orange shade, its not ‘hot’ orange but its certainly not pastel at all.  I love this colour, its just summer perfect!  What you see above it two coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu! and it was almost a one coat wonder.  A couple of nails needed a second coat to ensure even coverage but the formula was easy to work with.  I topped with a coat of G&G HK Girl to lock in colour and shine.

There has been a fair bit knocking about on the internet regarding the wear of Chanel. I have an active work, social and home life and usually change my polish daily before chips emerge.  I did get 24 and a bit hours out of this before I chipped it.  I really do think it depends on your base and top coat combos, like so many polishes.  I like to wear the Dior Gel Top Coat over Chanel as I think that works well too – I just forgot on this occasion.

I think I might be swayed into buying three more of the polishes from this range, as a huge Chanel fan and Le Vernis collector, I’d find it hard to walk away.  Can you guess which one I would probably miss?

Chanel – Charivari

Wow, I completely forgot that I had these pictures on my camera.  How awful and remiss of me.  Anyway, this is the second polish from Collection Notes De Printemps Spring 2014 that I picked up.  Just to recap the three available shades are Ballerina (a pale pink re-promote), 605 Tapage (a hot pink leaning coral creme that we have seen here) and the one I am about to show you, 603 Charivari (a dusky purple creme).

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Now I know what you are thinking – surely I already have this shade already.  It looks like Provocation from the FNO Shades last year.  I can assure you its not.  Its much duskier and lighter in tone.  Formula was lovely, two easy coats and BOOM we are done. Drying time is excellent and so was the wear.  As usual, based with G&G Stuck on Blu! and G&G HK Girl as a top coat.

Anyway, you know how I am a sucker for a Chanel… Chanel Le Vernis retails for £18 and can be picked up from larger department stores or online at Boots or Selfridges.

Chanel – 605 Tapage

Oh dear, I passed the Chanel Counter and noticed that the new Collection Notes De Printemps Spring 2014 range was on counters.  Three available shades in Le Vernis, Ballerina (a pale pink repromote), 603 Charivari (a rich purple creme) and the one I am about to show you, 605 Tapage (a pink leaning red).

20140202-130842.jpg

As you can see above, there are a number of pink/red shades in the collection along with some new eyeshadows.  As always its a  beautifully curated range.  Anyway, enough of what I am not showing you, here is Tapage.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Gosh I do adore this.  Its bright, its poppy, its a fab colour.  I’d describe it as a pink leaning red raspberry shade, but its not like anything else in my stash (thank goodness!!)  Formula was heavenly, as you know if you follow my blog, my admiration for Chanel Cremes is limitless.  And for good reason.  This is a one coater.  rich, creamy easy to work with coupled with great drying time and wonderful self levelling.

What you see above is two coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu! topped of the G&G HK Girl.  Wear was excellent, a good two days without the slightest hint of tip wear.  I got lots of comments on the colour of it, bit of a discussion at work as to weather it was more pink or red, but when you put it next to a pink, its clearly red.

From what I can tell, none of these Vernis shades are limited edition, unlike the Fall 2013 shades.  Chanel Le Vernis retails for £18 and can be picked up from larger department stores or online at Boots or Selfridges.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Chanel – Rouge Rubis

OK, so I did promise to mix it up a wee bit for you all, moving away from my haul fro the US and a polish you might still be able to pick up in the UK.  This is the lovely Rouge Rubis from Chanel, part of the Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday Collection 2013.

And it is a STUNNER! Here come the pics….

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

It is a vibrant, bright cherry red.  Its jelly in formula, so its a bit different to the world famous Chanel Cremes.  Its just divine.  Almost a one coater, but what you see above here is two coats over Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu! and topped with Glisten & Glow HK Girl.  Its super shiny and just simply a red you must get into your collection.  Its that lovely, its been named ‘the nail shade of the season‘ in the Telegraph.

Chanel make up is readily available in the UK at large make up floors in department stores and online on at Boots and Selfridges.  RRP for this polish was £18, and it is limited edition, so if you haven’t and you want it and you see one – get it asap!

Let me know what you think – lovely, OK or just another red?
