Chanel – Infidele

OK, I know, another Chanel polish so quickly after Vertigo and June.  BUT in my defense, this is super new and limited edition, and I was able to snap these up on the day of release from my local Selfridges. What am I going to show you is Infidele, one of a new trio released for Fashion’s Night Out 2012 with matching lip sticks.

Infidele is a dusky pink, almost a dark rose colour.  I wasn’t expecting to like it, as we know I’m not your typical pink girl.  But I think it is a good colour for me and my skin tone.  Plus I have few shades this pink side of red.

In terms of formula, this was perfect.  Smooth flowing, creamy and a complete dream to work with.  It dries quickly and is an excellent self leveller.  I really cannot give this enough praise and I pray that the other two are just as glorious to work with.  Love it.

What you see about it Essie All-in-One base coat and Seche Vite top coat.  Wear has been nothing short of excellent, and the creme shine has just lasted and lasted and lasted.

Fashion’s Night Out Chanel polishes are being issues though a limited number of resellers in the UK, as mentioned above, I picked mine up from Selfridges.  In the US, you lucky ladies, can actually buy Les Twin-Sets De Chanel directly of the website.

So, what do you think?  Like, love, not fussed??

New Things I Have Spotted #33

We are well into the new school year now, the traffic is getting busier and busier and very soon the local unversities return and I know that public transport will be busting at the seams when they do.  Feels a long way from the idyllic commute I had over the summer.  That said, I still find time over lunch on on the way home to pop into local stores to see what is new.

Below are some of my recent Spots.  Enjoy and do let me know if you buy anything new and exciting.

20120910-104328.jpgNew white capped Revlon Brilliant Strength, lots of lovely colours and finishes to be found here.  This display was in the biggest Boots store.

20120910-104341.jpgNew glitter polishes by Beauty UK on the end caps in my local Superdrug. I spy bar glitter in these!!!

New Autumn colours from 17 in Boots.

Any finally, lovely new Jewel coloured nail polishes in Marks and Spencer.  These are Ltd Edition so if you fancy them, get going as they don’t appear to be on their website.  But check out that cute Owl Eye Pallette too.

Anything catch your eye or Spotted anything new and exciting?  Hit me up in the comments below

Chanel – Vertigo

This little gem was given to me by my wonderful sister, who picked this up in New York the day it was released. I just got my hands on it and couldn’t wait to show you guys. This Chanel is one of three in the Collection Les Essentials De Chanel and its sister polishes are Frenzy and Suspicious. Below you can see an image of the stand I recently spotted.

Vertigo is a dark, deep and rich purple. So deep, its almost black. In the bottle you can clearly see a shimmer which sadly does not translate onto the nail. That is a real shame. In direct sunlight it is clearly purple. It is hard to categorise but I believe that is part of its charm.

Anyway, pictures!

Formula on this was great, what you see above are two average coats. Drying time was good and coverage was excellent. It dries well without streaks and is self levelling. I base coated with Essie all-in-one and top coated with Seche Vite.

Chanel polishes are available in department stores and large Boots stores in the UK, you can also purchase them via Boots.com. In the US, you can buy them in department stores or direct from Chanel.com. Retail price is £18 and Les Essentials De Chanel is out now.

So, what do you think? I think its a great colour, can be work appropriate and can also be jazzed up with a slick coat of glitter (my curent fav way of glamming up a day old mani). Any of the new colours catch your eye?

Here is my first sighting of a stand for the new Bourjois Wild Paris collection.  This is the one that has the Python Top Coat.

No7 in Boots has had a complete revamp.  New everything.  This includes revamped polish bottles for their existing colour range and there are some new colours.  They seem slightly larger and heavier to me.  I don’t think the formula has changed at all.

20120901-154623.jpg

And finally for this edition of Spotted! polish in H&M.  I’m particularly drawn to these cute little bottles that would lovely sitting out.  These are £1.99 each.

Wow, Nail Haul!

I’ve had some time off work and I’ve spent lots of it with family. It’s been awesome. We’ve done lots of lovely things including a day trip to France and a trip to Westfield London.

And, of course, I have had my eyes out for new things.  Check out my haul and polish snaps.

20120824-004135.jpg

So, here I have my first sighting of the new Nude Polishes from Dior, from The Nude Collection, lovely neutral tones that I am sure would flatter any skin tone. (Sorry for the blurry pic, I was trying to be discreet!)

20120824-004142.jpg

Then, in Sephora, I noticed this display of new top coats.  I picked up a couple that I couldn’t leave behind (see below).  There are four, 2 flakie top coats, 1 with silver holo bar glitter and a fourth one with gold glitter.

20120824-004149.jpg

I also saw brands I have never seen before, such as Vernis Brillance Eclat by Nocibe.

20120824-004156.jpg

More Nocibe make up.

20120824-004204.jpg

Then a trip to Westfield London, where they have an Inglot (pictured above), a KIKO, a Colourcopia, a Make Up Store AND a Beauty Base.  PLUS the Models Own Bottle Shop pictured below.

20120824-004210.jpg

Dior – Bengale

Dior Golden Jungle Collection has been out since mid August in the UK.  I’ve been eying up most of the collection I will admit, its lovely and autumnal with a hint of gold.  There are three polishes in this collection, a lovely Crocodile Crackle Duo (Ltd Edition), a dark green (Amazonia) and today’s lovely Bengale.

Like all new Dior editions, Bengale comes with the new standard Dior brush.  I know lots of people have issues with this, I don’t.  I love the wide brush and find it has the right thickness to coat my nail in just over two coats.  The brush is curved at the end and I find this means I can leave a small gap between nail paint and my cuticles.  I’d be interested to know in what you guys think of the brush.

Anyway, onto the colour.  Bengale is a lovely rich, dark brown.  I know that sounds boring, but it really isn’t.  Its a lovely rich creme that glides onto the nail.  I wasn’t convinced with the promo shots and it is a bit darker than on the Dior website.  Once I saw it in real life, it was my first go to purchase from the collection.

I really love Dior polishes, I know for £18 they are a bit steep, but the colour saturation is excellent.  The quality of the formula is amazing.  And the wear of the polish is also fabulous.  I would snap this up if you have no browns in your collection, as a reddy/brown pale Celt, its fab against my skin tone.

In the UK, Dior can be bought from large Department Stores and large Boots stores.  Price point is £18.  Its worth noting that is was a Selfridges exclusive for the first few weeks and you can buy items online there.

What catches your eye from the Golden Jungle?

New Things I have Spotted #31 – New Revlon display

Just one new sighting so far this week, I’m waiting for the deluge of new Fall colours (in particular the new Bourjois Python Effects as part of the forthcoming Wild Paris Collection…)

I’ve seen this three times now, this was the most stocked I have seen it. There also seems to be a reissue of Facets of Fuchsia, now called Scandalous, which came out Fall 2011.

Have you seen a better stocked one? What is in it?

New Things I Have Spotted #28 – Estée Lauder

A quick & dirty post for you as I’m still out shopping…

Further to a recent Spotted! Display stands for the new Estée Lauder nail polishes are instore. some of these are limited Ed, such as Viper & Cavier. There is also going to be a new range of reds, called From Paris With Love, three intense limited shades.

I’ll update with links later

New Things I have Spotted #27 – New Revlon, New YSL, New Estee Lauder and New Dior

Goodness, seems like it was an age since the last Spotted! post, trust me that is not because of a lack of looking, but just a bit of Nail Polish World stability before the excitement of Autumn Collections.  So I have a LOT for you to see today…. lets get going

Here we have the first UK sighting of new Revlon polishes, some of the two tone nail sticks that I have seen on US blogs.  £7.99 is what you would pay in dollars, but look at the pretties.  I Spotted! these in Boots.  Nothing on the website yet, but I’m guessing there soon will be.  Wonder if this means we might get some of the other nail art sticks, like Moon Candy or Crackle?

Above you can see them in their natural habitat in the larger Revlon stand.

Also spotted today are the new YSL Autumn Winter Collection.  This arrived on Monday this week.  Two polishes in the collection, close up below.  Although that eye pencil in green looks very pretty…

This is 31 Khaki Arty and 32 Rouge Expressioniste, both cremes, both retailing for £18.

This is exciting news – two new collections from Estee Lauder.  First one is called Beyond Black, includes blues, greens and grays.  The second is Metal Mania, including lots of shiny gorgeous colours that you just HAVE TO SEE! These retail in the UK for £14.50 and can be bought directly from Estee Lauder online.

And finally for today’s Spotted!  The new Dior Golden Jungle range. A crackle duo, the gold is the underwear and the green is the crackle, and two new polishes.  The Duo is £24 and the individual polishes are £18.
