China Glaze Glittering Garland and Twinkle Lights

So, I’ll ‘fess up here.  The following nail polishes were NOT bought in NYC, these were some I picked up in our local Sally Hair and Beauty when they were running a China Glaze 3 for 2.  These are from the Holiday 2011 Let it Snow collection.

Firstly, I used Glittering Garland as my sparkle base coat.  Wow, what a stunner and what a polish.  Lovely, smooth and buttery.  Gliding on and drying quickly.  Fab.  A really winner on all levels here.

Then I used Twinkle Lights, trying to spread a light smattering over the top.  This failed as the sparkle was much denser than I anticipated, so it was a bit of a thicker coat.  However, its jam packed with small micro glitter of gold, red and green.  So very Christmas!

So, here is the result, waddyathink??

Its getting close to that time of the year….

Very shortly I will have to start the Christmas baking, I’m quite excited and I already have lots of ideas and things I want to try.

When I was in the US, I picked up two Christmas magazines to provide new inspiration.  The first is Food Gifts, filled with great ideas of recipes you can make and how you can present them.

The second is called Holiday Cookies, from Land O Lakes, again lots of great recipes to test and eat!  Yummy

Of course, I’ll be sharing images and letting you know how they go.  Wish me luck!

Chanel – Rouge Carat Holiday 2011

I love Red.  I love Christmas and Holidays.  And I adore Chanel Nail Polishes.  Perfect match.  Rouge Carat is a warm red with fuschia undertones and a lil bit o’sparkle.  Divine.

Formula was amazing, could have just done one coat, which is great for speed.  The eagle eyed amongst you will notice the above image has tip wear.  This is the morning after the night of painting.  A real, heart wrenching £17.50 disappointment.
