Pink and Black Holographic MoYou Princess Plate Stamping

I’ve been playing around with my MoYou stamping plates again.  I saw this star pattern on one of the Princess Plates, I believe its number 14.

I used Colors By Llarowe Black Gold Texas Tea, which stamps so very well and gives a bit of interest as its a great holo polish.

Love this, the pink is Cheery Bon Bon by Nella Milano – which we’ve seen before and reviewed here.

What do you think? Too pink?  or just right?  Let me know in the comments

Enchanted Polish – July 2014

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend?  I’m just going to share some older images to clear the backlog of posts.  This is the second Enchanted Polish I own – this is July 2014, one I bought a presale as July is my birthday month and I decided to treat myself.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Enchanted Polishes are known for their holos, and man do they shine like stars.. This is two coats of July 2014 topped with G&G HK Girl (good for not dulling holos).

Anyway, if you want to get our hands on Enchanted Polishes, there is a big BIG resale market if you feel brave.  Otherwise you have to be lucky to score them on the Enchanted website or be around during one of the small presale windows.  The monthly polishes are all bought sight unseen, which means you don’t know what you get until you open that pretty pretty box.

Do you have any Enchanteds in your stash?  Are they worth all the hassle?  Let me know your thoughts in the comments

Spotted – updated stands for Christmas and some new items from Miss Sporty

A few of the stands in your local drugstores may be updated in the near future if they haven’t already. First up, Rimmel has a new end cap in Superdrug – in particular highlighting the new Pop Art topper and those Glitter Bomb shades.

Then new shades in the Miss Sporty stand….

Inlcuding another high street glitter peel off base coat, just like the new one from NYC New York Color.

And some new hologram shades.. not sure these are 100% new but they are in the new updated stand.

Finally, Barry M for the festive season, including slots for the limited edition toppers, only one seen here.

That is all this time, what have you seen out and about?

Liquid Lacquer – OB2001

A bit of an oldie for you today – I was sent this by my polish picking friend in the US and I’ve used it a couple of times since I got it.  I do love a nice holo and the sunny weather is a good reason to crack them out.

This is OB2001 from Liquid Lacquer

Its a lovely pale-ish green shade, I probably wouldn’t have picked it myself but I love the freshness of it.  Formula was also excellent, this is three thin coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu!  I topped off with my G&G HK Girl which apart form being awesome, does not dull or reduce the holo effect in any polish I have put it over.  No exception here.

Love it!  What are your favourite holos?  Let me know in the comments

Colors by Llarowe – Black Gold Texas Tea

Another fabulous Colors By Llarowe to share with you today.  This on is Black Gold Texas Tea – a fabulous linear black holo polish.  Lets hit the pictures!

Wow, I just love this.  Its a super linear holo, really holographic effect.  I could have even gotten away with one coat it was almost an amazing one coat wonder.  Not quite – because I chose to use two coats to ensure good even coverage.  I did a base of G&G Stuck on Blu! and then topped with a coat of G&G HK Girl.  HK Girl is great over holos, there is no dulling of the effect or colour and so its just perfect for making your holo polishes last longer.

Colors By Llarowe – Beat It

I was a bit naughty during the recent Colors by Llarowe restock over on Llarowe.  It was my first time using the new queuing system, which seems to work quite well.  You visit the site during an advertised restock and it holds place for you in the queue depending on when you arrived at the site (kind of a first come first served system).  Its good because you get a place and no frantic clicking and purchasing under pressure.  But you have no idea how long you will be waiting so tricky if you stay up for a late restock.

Anyway, I picked up just the two, this is the first one I am sharing with you and is the lovely holographic Beat It! from the Michael Jackson collection.

Gosh, isn’t this pretty stunning? Formula is amazing, I could have gotten away with one coat but in the end I went for two to ensure even coverage.  Drying time is fast, I was very impressed.  I based with G&G Stuck on Blu! and then top coated with G&G HK Girl which really doesn’t dull holos in anyway.  Wear on this was just fantastic, two whole days and not even a chip!  Really love this.

Enchanted Polish – Across The Universe

Hello polish loving people!

I’m back from my trip to NYC, do you want to see my haul?  Let me know, otherwise I’ll keep it to myself (might be best… as I went a lil bit craxy!)

Anyway, I have a lovely polish for you today, one sent to me by my Polish Picking Princess last year.  I haven’t shared this one with you before and I have worn it a bit.   Enough preamble, onto the polish!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So this is a ‘legendary’ Enchanted Polish, when I say legendary these are well known within the polish community for being hard to get and being resold for a lot more than originally purchased for.  I know this is supply and demand, but I do wonder how many people purchase just for reselling.  Regardless, the polishes are stunning and this is the only one I own.

Enchanted Polish now come in different bottles, this is an older one and you can tell by the shape of the bottle (round) and the label.

Its just stunning, a super shiny bright linear holographic polish.  Flashes of purple and blue and navy and gold.  I love this.  It does go on a bit sheer and opacity needs fours coats, but best to layer this over black or navy so that you can make the bottle last longer.  I found that top coat didn’t dull the effect and added to the wearability of the polish, I’m still using G&G HK Girl (UK stockist Rainbow Connection) and I’ve bought one of the handy refill bottles.

If you do want to get your hands on an EP, then you will either need to stump up some cash or start stalking both Twitter and the Facebook page here, for updates on restocks.

Let me know what you think and about the haul…..

Colors By Llarowe – Dirty Diana

I was a little bit naughty a fee weeks ago and treated myself to a couple of the gorgeous looking Color By Llarowe polishes.  These are a line developed and made by Llarowe herself, not only is she a seller of amazing polishes from around the world, she is also now a polish maker!  There are a number of holographic polishes and cremes in the range, which really does have something for everyone.

This one is Dirty Diana, part of the Michael Jackson tribute collection.  Let’s see some pictures!

Firstly, can I just say the formula on this is stunning.  It almost a one coater, but I did two over a base coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu! (UK link now ladies!).  Its like butter, smooth, self leveling and the most stunning colour.  And wow, will you look at that holo effect in the image using flash.  In person the holo effect is quite strong.  As formula does wear well, but you can use top coat, certain ones do not dull the holo effect.  I topped mine with Glisten & Glow HK Girl (UK link again!) and it didn’t dull it.  I know some people feel it does, so it really is a personal preference.

The bottle is square and the brush is firm but flexible.  Its a good size, you get 15ml and its great that all the bottles match and line up neatly.

Colors by Llarowe are available directly from the Llarowe website, they cost between $6 and $12 depending on finish, and there is international shipping!!  They are looking into suppliers in other countries to ensure deliveries and keep postage costs down, so do keep an eye on their website and/or Facebook page.  There are occasional pre-sales, so you order in advance and they get sent to you when you order is fulfilled, or if they are in stock, you can buy them right away.  Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu! Base Coat and HK Girl Top Coat are now available to those of us in the UK via Rainbow Connection UK.

What do you think?  Do you like a holo polish?  Which one is your fave?  Next up, another Llarowe Holo Polish!

HEMA – Holographic Bordeaux

Hey there!  Happy Bank Holiday to those of you in the UK, hope you are going something good with your day off.  I have a lovely holographic polish I picked up from the Dutch store HEMA when I was in Holland recently.  There seems to be a six polishes in the holographic range.

Anyway, onto the pictures….

The application of this was a bit tricky, the polish was drying as I was applying it.  Plus the polish has a tendency to drag if you go over one area twice.  What you see above is two coats, the second coat does provide complete coverage and the colour is lovely.  A mid purple with a surprisingly amount of holo-ness for your 4€

Naturally, unless you are near a HEMA or have a dutch buddy, you probably will not be able to get your hands on these.  But I thought it was worth sharing 🙂

OPI – DS Glamour

Look at this lovely polish my Canadian Polish Twin sent me. (EDIT it looks like the lovely Adina is back to posting on her blog, even if this is temporary her style is perfection)

Super quickly, this is one of the DS Series from OPI, they contain Diamond Dust and are super holographic-ey

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I did a quick base coat with Essie Millionails and then three thin coats of the polish.  It was super easy to work with and dried very quickly.  I just adore the blue, it is so vibrant and eye catching.  I didn’t use a top coat at this can dull the effect and I got a full 24 hours before it started to chip slightly.  So I am delighted with that.  The pics really don’t do this justice, in the sun the holographic effect is just immense.  I can’t wait to wear this one again on a sunny day!

Do you own any of the DS series?  What else is worth getting??
