Sinful Colors – Standing Bloom Only

I may have been a bit naughty and ordered from nail polishes from the US via eBay. I fell in love once I saw the Sinful Colors Bloom Blast collection on Nouveau Cheap (I’m just gonna blame G really…) and I also scored a couple of other polishes from the other collections, although sadly not Shamrocking (and I also missed Love Sprinkles from the valentines collection)

Anyway, this is Standing Bloom Only a lovely juicy orange polish packed to the gills with orange and red glitter in all manner of sizes. It really couldn’t be more me if it tried, as soon as I say pictures, I was a goner.

What you see above is two medium coats over a base of Essence Better Than Gel Nails base and topped off with a thick layer of Nails Inc 45 Second Top Coat. Formula is good and workable, I blobbed a fair bit on the nail before spreading it out in an attempt to get even glitter distribution. I needn’t have worried to be fair as this is packed with glitter and it glides onto the nail evenly.

As I mentioned, I picked this up from a seller on eBay who sells lots of drugstore items internationally, presumably to polish addicts like me and US nationals living abroad. I was good, I only got six in total, and lets be clear, it could have been a LOT WORSE!! Are you over glitter containing cremes? I thought I was, and then this collection has just done it for me!

Chanel – Rouge Rubis

OK, so I did promise to mix it up a wee bit for you all, moving away from my haul fro the US and a polish you might still be able to pick up in the UK.  This is the lovely Rouge Rubis from Chanel, part of the Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday Collection 2013.

And it is a STUNNER! Here come the pics….

It is a vibrant, bright cherry red.  Its jelly in formula, so its a bit different to the world famous Chanel Cremes.  Its just divine.  Almost a one coater, but what you see above here is two coats over Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu! and topped with Glisten & Glow HK Girl.  Its super shiny and just simply a red you must get into your collection.  Its that lovely, its been named ‘the nail shade of the season‘ in the Telegraph.

Chanel make up is readily available in the UK at large make up floors in department stores and online on at Boots and Selfridges.  RRP for this polish was £18, and it is limited edition, so if you haven’t and you want it and you see one – get it asap!

Let me know what you think – lovely, OK or just another red?

Essie – Wild Thing

This polish has been on wish list for about two years, ever since I had a manicure with it on a trip to NYC. I loved it, summed up the trip wonderful, red and glittery, it was the perfect for the couple of days we were there.  So I loved her and left her behind, but I never forgot.  And then I couldn’t get hold of a bottle without paying lots of money.  I waited.  And I waited some more.  I looked when we went to Florida, everytime the slot was empty.  Everything.  I felt a bit jinxed.  Anyway, along came my Polish Picking Princess, we have become firm friends over our love of a pretty bottle of polish.  Thank goodness for my PPP because she was able to slay the Wild Thing need.

And Wild Thing is still as pretty, as red and as sparkly as I remember.  Just a word of warning, its quite hard to photography because all the sparkle makes my camera go a bit crazeeeee.

What you see above is three thin coats over a base of Seche Clear sealed with a Seche Vite top coat.  The formula is a bit squishy, almost jellyish, but that might be deliberate.  On drying it does have a jelly like appearance, speckled with little glitter pieces.  Its lovely, really lovely and I so wish I could capture it better in images.

Essie have recently branched out into larger Boots and Superdrug stores in the UK.  I know in the US they are available in lots of places.  There are also plenty of online retailers, so a bit of googling will help you out.  What Essie Polishes to do recommend?
