Born Pretty Store Plate BP-21and silver stamping polish

*Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review but this does not influence the opinions expressed in this blog which are entirely my own.

I have more plates from the Born Pretty Store – this is the first one to share with you all, BP-21, which has a number of geometric designs on.  There are circles, waves, an ornate pattern and geometric lines.  For this mani I used the geometric lines.  You can find this plate here on the BP website.

I was also sent a silver stamping polish, which you can see here on the BP website, which I also used to create the mani above. I love the colour combination of blue and silver.  This blue is my Lancome Vernis In Love Nuit D’azur (purchase by me) which we’ve seen on my blog before here.

Anyway, this plate is fabulous.  I am in love with the designs and I can see that I will get a lot of use from it.  I used the geometric lines to go with an outfit that had an asymmetric top, so I thought the lines would work well.  Plus the top was almost the same blue as the base polish.

The plate comes with a transparent blue plastic cover which you need to remove before using.  The plate feels well etched and the designs are a good size.  I always clean my plates with acetone before use.  I also recently bought a Creative Stamper, which I have been getting to grips with and I can say that I love that too!

The silver polish is designed to be used for stamping and I have to say, I’m quite impressed  I have been using the Models Own Colour Chrome polishes, but they dry very quickly on the plate and so the stamping polish doesn’t dry as quickly.  This is good as the plate designs are big enough that if I work quickly, I can get two nails done at once.

If you are looking for a good silver polish, and you have your eye on other items on BP, I can highly recommend this polish.  And I am more than happy to recommend the stamping plates I have experienced.  There are a huge range of items on the BP store, although do note that because it is the Chinese New Year, orders are subject to delay whilst the store is closed.

Born Pretty have provided me with a 10% off code for all my readers, so if you like the look of this, or any of the next few products I have to share with you over the next week or so, please feel free to use it. The code is ULG10.

Lancôme – Nuit D’Azur

Wow, I am a sucker for bright blue cremes at the moment – there is something about them that makes my heart sing.  I picked this up, sneakily when the hubster was about and he didn’t notice!  But as soon I as saw this, I just had to have it.  Its part of the French Riviera collections recently released by Lancome for Summer 2014. Lets check out some pictures!

Check out that beauty!  How nice is this??  Its is the perfect blue.  Two coats of blue perfection – and no staining on the nails either!  This is two coats over a base of Essence Anti Nail Split Sealer topped with a coat of G&G HK Girl to bring that glossy top to the colour pop.  And POP it does.

Lancome is readily available in large department stores and other large chemists.  RRP for the Vernis in Love shades is about the £13 mark.  So cheaper than Chanel but remember the bottles are smaller.  I don’t that matters excessively, but if you have a thing about smaller bottles (in a good or bad way) its worth knowing up front.

I’m so glad I picked this up – what other blues are in your ‘love pile’ let me know in the comments!

That’s all at the moment, not much else knocking about.  Soon be time for autumn collections….

Lancôme – Le Rouge L’Wren

An older one for you again today – this is a release from 2010 and was part of a two part limited edition nail polish release by Lancome by designer L’Wren Scott.

When I saw these two polishes, I knew I had to have them, and I stalked all the Lancome counters I could find.  And thankfully, I struck gold.

Le Rouge L’Wren is a gorgeous wine red with shimmer.  The shimmer is so visible on the nail – its just stunning.  They are ever so slightly brighter than the base, so they do stand out.  Formula is good, it does go on a bit streaky to begin with, but what you see above it three coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu! and topped with a good coat of G&G HK Girl.

From what I can recall, and from what Google tells me, these are classes as mini bottles – they hold 6ml of polish and have a black cap which can come off for easier application.  The brush is a bit thicker than I like, but it was still easy to use with care and attention.

Ah I love this, got lots of comments on it when I wore it and I wore it for three days solid, three days!  Its almost unheard of.  Did you pick this one up in 2010?
