L’Oreal – Tuxedo Noir

I managed to snag this polish when we were in the US in May form the reduced section in a nearby Walmart.  I believe this might be from the Shades of Grey collection that L’Oreal brought out and I do love a black polish!  Lets have a look at some pics.

Ooohhh black and shiny.  Whats not to love?  Formula was a bit on the thick side, so if you did one thick coat you’d probably be OK.  I did two thin-ish coats out of habit really.  It does dry a bit matte so I used my Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat to bring out the shine and I think that helps.

What do you think?  I know there was a bit of a run on the holographic shade from this collection and I couldn’t find that anywhere, nor any other shades from the collection.

Did you manage to get any of the collection?  Let me know in the comments!

In case you are heading out this bank holiday weekend, there are some new things knocking about that might catch your eye.

First up, new Chanel Ete Summer 2015 Collection Mediterranee.  Four new polish shades.  New Dior Summer 2015, again new polish shades.  And then, new L’Oreal shades.  Four new shades here.  There were one or two others in the updated stand. Anything catch your eye?  Let me know in the comments.

L’Oreal Boheme Flower Top Coat – Coachelala

We saw these a few weeks ago, part of the new releases from L’Oreal. There are two that I’ve seen to date, one with pink glitter bits and white flowers, and then this one.  The excellently named Coachelala!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I do love this one, orange bar bits with white flowers. I wore one coat of Coachelala over a base of one of the Essence Colour and Go in one of the Brazilian Greens, Beijos From Brazil, from last year – it reminds me of fresh green grass.  I based with Nailtiques 2 (still a little bit of peeling going on…) and then did one coat the Essence and one coat of the top coat.

Those flowers are probably the hardest to get out of the bottle.  It does come with quite a thick clear base, not unworkable, but you will need to roll it in your hands for a bit to get the glitter off the sides of the bottle.  Mine has two metal balls in it, to help mix the polish.  I got four flowers on each hand, so that isn’t too bad.

I picked up mine in a 3 for 2 cosmetics promotion in Boots, and a word of caution, check the bottles.  Often I find they have been opened and tested and so the bottle neck is all crusty.  Or you find one with a wonky brush like I did, so I just swapped the brush with another bottle.  I believe it was £4.99 and yes its a small bottle, but lets be honest – how ofter do you ever finish one?

What do you think?  Let me know in the comments!  Thanks for popping by

Spotted! Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne & L’Oreal new shades

A couple of things to share with you from recent trips out. First up Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne is now available in the UK, with three shades of polish, all limited edition.IMG_7444
I also spotted that in Superdrug, the L’Oreal stands had been updated with some new images and new shades of polish.
IMG_7445
Yep, that does say wax and latex effect on the two shades on the right.  And yes, they aren’t new, we’ve seen them before in Boots.  So I’m not sure what is going on here… perhaps they are new to Superdrug?

This is the shade that is worn in the promotional image, 121 Royal Orchid.

So there we go, just a few things.  I did cave at the Chanel counter… so that will be up in a couple of days.  Want to guess which one I bought?

NOTD – L’Oreal Brit Invasion (US Release)

I’ve been having fun digging about the stash and pulling out older shades that you may (or may not) have seen on the blog before. I thought it might be nice to do some quick Nail of The Day (NOTD) posts for you.

This one I got from a friend in the US as part of a polish exchange group, way before the RM restrictions on posting polish came into force.  I googled and it looks like part of a 2012 release for Fall, a whole load of London/UK named polishes.  Its NOTHING LIKE IT IS IN THE BOTTLE.  What a bummer.  But I still love this.

I have previously blogged about this here (should have checked that first, it has the details on the collection!)

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Spotted! New Seventeen stands & Revlon A/W polishes

A couple of smaller spots for you today – first up, Seventeen have had some new pop up stands in Boots stores.  I hadn’t noticed how many new shades they had brought out but presumably they have now finished the transition from the old bottles to the newer ones.  Hence a big re-promote and the removal of Sinful Colors (which are in the same price point).  So here are the new Seventeen stands.IMG_6569.JPG

Then I spotted the new Revlon shades, actually integrated into the main Revlon stand,  I’d already seen these over on BeautyGeek and was wondering if we might get these shades.  And then BOOM we did.  Interesting the non glitter shade was part of the Summer 2014 Bohemian Collection.IMG_6570.JPG

The purple shade is similar to Facets of Fuchsia (Scandalous) but it is NOT the same.  According to Karen at the aforementioned BeautyGeeks, the Egdy shade is limited edition.  Makes sense, as you can see here its not numbered so not part of the core range.IMG_6571.JPG

Finally, over on the new updated L’Oreal stands, a couple of new finish effects.  One wax and one latex.IMG_6573.JPGThere you go, a few more things to look out for.  Anything catch your eye?

Spotted! NYC Crystal Couture, Sally Hansen, Miss Sporty & L’Oreal Red Collection,

Lots more new things on shelves, I’ve brought a few new spots into one post so you get to see them quicker.  First up NYC Crystal Coutures, four shades in total…. gold, red, purple and blue.  In the US there are two additional and different shades – a green one and a stunning red and grey one which I MUST GET!!  See them here on Nouveau Cheap.

IMG_6473
Also spotted in the NYC stand is this new Glitter Off base coat.  This is like many on the market to make heavy glitter removal easier… now for £1.99 its certainly worth trying if you don’t fancy making your own base coat from PVA glue.

IMG_6472
Then, I Spotted new polishes in the Sally Hansen stand from the Complete Salon Manicure range. A mix of metallics and glitters, inlcuding this interesting little one below.. gold and purple and shimmer?? Ooohhhhhhhhh

IMG_6471
The others include a jewel red, gold and purple and a black with silver glitter and a pure silver polish.

IMG_6470
Not that there is anything new it in, but its the first time out for a Halloween stand  and this one is for Miss Sporty.

IMG_6469
Finally, for your viewing pleasure, the new Pure Reds collection from L’Oreal.

IMG_6468
Incudes lipsticks as well in so many shades, there is one for everyone.

That’s it, quite a few new things to pop out and have a lookie at.  Anything catch your eye?  Let me know in the comments.

Spotted – New L’Oreal Nail Polishes, GOSH, MUA and Essence in Wilkos

Despite it being the height of summer here in the UK sales market, I have noticed one or two new things popping onto shelves near you.  First up, I was drawn to the fact the L’Oreal have updated their nail sections in many Boots and Superdrug stores.  Some simple nail art inspiration here.
20140723-181138-65498416.jpg

Then I noticed something I have seen no press for at all – new double ended L’Oreal Nail Polish.  There is a polish (step 1) followed by a tinted top coat (step 2).  Curious……. RRP is £7.99 so there are not cheap but I can’t find any further information on the internet either. UPDATE – British Beauty Blogger has more info HERE
20140723-182330-66210940.jpg

After seeing a badly filled Shades of Grey stand, I finally see a filled one.  Lots of repromotes here and those new Stardust polishes.

20140723-182358-66238857.jpg

20140723-182528-66328863.jpg

MUA has released from new nail polish products – a super strong basecoat, a peel off base coat (interesting that it is clear and doesn’t look like PVA glue in a bottle) and the now ubiquitous matte top coat.

20140723-182333-66213544.jpg

And for those of you that haven’t had enough of me banging on about Essence hitting the UK, this is the small updated stand in my local Wilkos (which is only a tiny branch so it only has the 1m line up)  Although small, there is quite a lot packed into this and the price points are excellent.

20140723-182530-66330550.jpg

So there we go, a quick update of what is new out there.  If you Spot something, please let me know, either via Twitter or by email and I can share your findings far and wide!
