Revlon Parfumerie – Bordeaux

If you happen to live near a Poundworld, I seriously recommend you get yourself to it asap.  Recently, US bottles of the Revlon Parfumerie have been cropping up for the princely sum of £1!  Compared to the £6.49 in other places in the high street, this is an excellent deal.  So I have a couple to show you in the next posts that I have been fortunate to pick up.  This one is Bordeaux.

As the name suggests, this on is a wine red, not a deep one, but a lovely shade of what I would call raspberry red.  It has hints of pink but it certainly isn’t pink.  Formula was good, this is two coats (although I did manage to have a massive smudge accident on several nails, so if you see shadows that is user error and not formula related!).  What you see here is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 (its that time of the year again to go on the assault to protect my nails!) and I did use a top coat here of G&G HK Girl.  Top coat only slightly diminishes that scent but increases wear time.

Brush is small and flat ended, not tapered, so a bit of care is needed around the cuticle area.  If you aren’t familiar with these, the gimmick is in tow ways.  Firstly, these are scented polishes and the name gives you a hint of the scent within.  I have a couple of the other ones, seen before Autumn Spice and Wintermint, and the scent on this one is much more subtle.  Its very gentle on the nose and isn’t overpowering at all.  You go have to sniff your fingers quite closely to get it.  The second thing, is the perfume styled bottle.  I do adore them, so cute and dinky!

The ball does have the brush attached so you need a firm grip so it doesn’t go shooting out of your hand!

What do you think?  I’d say its certainly worth the £1 I paid.  Have you picked any up recently?  Let me know in the comments!

Revlon Parfumerie – Wintermint

So moving swiftly away from the haul post, here is another polish from my trip.  This is Wintermint from the Revlon Parfumerie.

Now some of you might be saying, hang on, this looks a bit familiar.  You would be right, this is known as a bit of a dupe for a Lippman polish amongst others.  Its super pretty, a pale turquoise/seafoam green with hints of metallics and for good measure teal glitters too.  The scent on this one is very  minty, and its lingers too.  Hung around for over two days.

Formula is good, with the little glitters you can drag them all to the top of the nail if you do the coats too quickly.  So two patient coats is what you see above. The smell does intensify as it dries.  Drying time is on the quick side, so its not too long to wait.  I used G&G Stuck on Blu! as my base and G&G HK Girl top coat, top coat only slightly dims the scent but obviously helps with the wear time.

I just love these, I wish I had bought more as the only other one I have is Autumn Spice.  However, excitingly, these will be hitting the UK on March 19 in Boots stores nationwide.  Hurrah!

These are the Color Shows I picked up, from the top Beaming Blue, Crushed Crimson and Amethyst Couture from the larger US Brocades range, beneath them Styled Out from the Denim Range and Dotty from the US Polka Dots range. 20131214-103256.jpg Here we have my first new Covergirl polish in 315 Timless Rubies, Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer in Cinny Sweet (see the Fall 2013 range here), Wet N Wild megarocks in Slap the Bass and Milani Neon in Awesome Orange.20131214-103313.jpg No judging… I’m still not done…  L’Oreal in Hidden Gems and I Like it Chunky from the Gold Dust collection. 20131214-103306.jpg More Sally Hansen goodies now, from the top right Fa-La-La-Lavender (Holiday 2013), Satin Glam in Silk Onyx and Sun Sheen (rest of the range here), Insta-Dry in Chop Chop Copper (Fall 2013).  Beneath them Twinkle Toes-ty (Holiday 2013) and Xtreme Wear in Rosey Shooter, Sea-ly String, Frazzle Dazzle and Green Rocket from the Fall 2013 range (see more info here) 20131214-103233.jpg I’m very excited to try out these two from the new Sephora X collection.  This is Spark and Bombshell. 20131214-103248.jpg And then, finally…. more Revlon.  Parfumerie in Autumn Spice and Winter Mint, Revlon Elusive, Revlon Sun Candy in Lava Flame and some spider nail art stencils that I think are Halloween 2012 or 2013 (sale item). 20131214-103242.jpg So there you have it.  My addiction laid bare.  Anything catch your eye and what you would like to see first??  Hit me up in the comments!

Revlon Parfumerie – Autumn Spice

So, quickly, here is the first of my US purchases that have graced my nails – high on the wish list was this polish, Revlon Parfumerie Autumn Spice.

Look at the cute bottle,  Look at the lovely label.  Look at the stunning colour.  *sigh*

This is super lovely.  The bottle is akin to a mini perfume bottle – hence the name – and they also have a subtle scent, based on the name.  From what I have read on other blogs, these are permanent additions to the Revlon line, currently only available in the US.  Fingers crossed for a transatlantic cross over.

Autumn Spice is a lovely rich brown with copper glitter hints.  Its very shiney and sparkly.  The scent is like autumn leaves and as it dries the scent becomes more apparent.  What you see in the pictures above is two coats over G&G Stuck on Blu topped with a layer of G&G HK Girl.  The top coat really brings out the glitter sparkle.

Formula is excellent, its easy to work with and coats well on the first coat.  Two coats just provides a consistent coverage level.  Drying time is average and as mentioned the above the scent does get stronger as it dries.  Its really easy to use the bottle once you get used to the sphere shaped cap.

I love this and its one of two I picked up.  What do you think?  Do you want to see this in the UK/Europe?  Let me know in the comments!
