Nella Milano – Pinky Ponk

Nella Milano time!  This week its a dark pink, almost raspberry shade!  Lets look at some pics!

So its pink.  Quite Pink. And the name?  Hilarious.  Reminds me of In the Night Garden!  Anyway, formula was a bit streaky on this one, thicker than I am used to with Nella shades so I think it just might be my bottle.  This is two coats over a case of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.

Not quite my shade, but would be great for days when I’m being more low key in the polish dept!
On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Pinky Ponk should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!Nella banner 728x90

Vintage Clinique – Fuchsia Kisses

I pulled out an older polish, given to me by my mum for this NOTD post.  I do love a good raspberry shade, not pink, raspberry.  Or as in the case of this one, Fuchsia.

As you’d expect with an older polish, formula is a bit stinky but its easy to work with.  Two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 sealed in with one of my many top coats (and I can’t recall which one).  Anyway, wear was good and removal super easy.  Love polishes like this.

Essence – Be Berry Now

I must admit, these colour and go Essence polishes are really dinging my bells at the moment.  I like a lot of things about them, the brush is ace – coats most of my nails in one coat, although O got a bit slap dash below and have some wonky edges.  I like the colour coordinated caps.  I like the fact that the bottles are small, but not OPI Mini Bottle small and certainly not OPI Full Size big!  I have several of these polishes to show you over the coming weeks

If you haven’t yet been into your local Wilkinsons (Wilko’s) stores, then I suggest you get in there or look on line here, Essence has now officially launched and you can start to pick up your little beauty now!  So after you’ve read this, go go go!  Anyway, for today I give you Be Berry Now!*

What you see above it two coats over a base of Essence Anti Split Nail Sealer  (bought by me) and topped with Essence Better Than Gel Nails top Coat (also bought by me).  Formula was good, it was almost a one coater!  I do love shades like this – two of my favourite Chanels are similar in tone.  I find these shades very flattering on my skin tone.

Anyway, drying time was good and the polish levels well.  The top coat is not as fast drying as some others on the market, but it does eventually dry rock hard with a glossy finish.

Let me know what you think and if you have been to your local Wilkos yet, I want to know what you pick up!  Now all we need is Catrice in the UK and my life will be complete……

KIKO Denim Nail Lacquer – Shade 462

A KIKO purchase for your eyes today! This is from the Denim collection (which until I saw instore I wasn’t aware of!)  This is the best kind of pink-ish shade for me.  A raspberry!

Gosh, look at this matte goodness.  As you can see, it does dry slightly matte.  Just a bit.  Not hugely.  Just a waxy-esque finish – not sure how that is Denim, but it might be the slight shimmer which doesn’t really translate onto the nail.  And that lack of shimmer transfer is the only disappointment.

Formula is good, this is two coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu, with no top coat so that you can see the effect.  If you do go over it with a matte top coat, it goes more matte.  But you can gloss it up with a shiny top coat.  I think I paid £2.50 for this from the store in London.  Do check online as they have been opening more stores across the south of the country.

What is your fave KIKO shade?
