Sinful Colors – Flower Power

I keep finding sets of images from earlier this year, not sure how I missed some of these.  Anyway, today I have one of the summer editions from Sinful Colors, which I have seen knocking about on eBay and blog sales.  I still think its worth sharing as its a cutie!

As you can see this is a pink polish packed with glitter.  I’m wearing two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  It was great and fun for summer, I think the colour combination works really well, even if it is pink!

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you know I ADORE a good red.  And this is no exception!  Two easy glossy coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  Love it.

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Cabaret Charm should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!

Sinful Colors – Fierce Fiesta

I’ve got lots of polishes to share with you that I picked up from the US.  I’ve got a few posts to catch up, so I’m not going to write reams and ream of words for you to plough through!

I really liked this yellow/red/pink combo, although my hubby said it was quite gross and he didn’t like it at all.  This is one coat of the Sinful Colors over a yellow creme.  It was the splodge and spread technique to spread the glitter out over the nail.  it bubbled a bit too as it dried, probably because I put a bit much on the nail.  But you can only see this if you were up close and personal to my fingers!

As I mentioned above, I picked this up in the US earlier this year – so it may or may not be still knocking about in stores.  There are a few places selling them on eBay so if you like the look of this – or indeed have ideas for a better colour combination that you want to try out!

Nella Milano – Chestnut Road

Da-TAH! Its Nella time again – this time, its a perfectly autumnal shade called Chestnut Road.  Lets look at some pictures…..

Wow, what a colour, its just stunning.  The shade just screams autumn.  Formula is good, this is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped of with Essie Gel-Setter top coat.  It wore like iron.  Seriously impressed.

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Chestnut Road should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!

Maybelline Color Show Suit Style – Red Reaction

Hey there – hope you all had great weekends!  Today I have a polish to show you thats been on my fingers for ages!  Gosh, I’ve fallen hard for this one… lets check out some pics!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Look at the red and the sparkle – OMG this is one gorgeous polish!  What you see here is three thin coats over a base of Naitiques 2 and topped off with Essie Gel Setter as my top coat (works like a treat on slight dull polishes!)  I did quite thin coats as the glitter tends to get dragged off otherwise and then you have the added benefit of building up some good depth of colour.

Red Reaction is part of the new Suit Style collection, and a sister polish to Suit & Sensibility, from Maybelline Color Show which has been out for a couple of weeks now.  Superdrug seems to have nail items on a 3 for 2, so worth picking this up if it catches your eye.

What are your pics from the Suit Style collection?  Let me know in the comments!

Nella Milano – Fiery Flamenco

Goodness, how can it be September???  But I am all ready for Autumn – love me a good vampy shade and awesome sweaters!  Bring it on!  So with that in mind, here is a great vamp red shade from Nella Milano – this is Fiery Flamenco!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Gosh, what a fab colour!  Perfect for lazy late summer evenings (and days!).  Its actually quite bright in person, its certainly not Coral or pink, but it pulls more coral than apple red.

Formula is great, as I have come to expect from Nella.  This is almost a one coat wonder, but what you see above it two over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Fiery Flamenco should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!

Nella Milano – Scarlet Heat

Its Nella Milano time again!  I think most nail polish lovers like to have a good red in their stash.  This one, if you’ve been looking for one, could be the one for you!  This is Scarlet Heat – lets check out some pictures.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

What you see here is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  To be honest, the shine on this was excellent and the top coat wasn’t 100% necessary.  Old habits die hard!  Formula was good, easy to work with and it didn’t pool around my cuticles.  It is certainly a bright, punch of red on the nail.  Its not a true apple red but its a good classic vampy red which would probably work with all skin tones.

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Scarlet Heat is on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!

Spotted! More Maybelline in stores!

I was passing my local Boots and popped into to see if I could spot the new Maybelline SOS Balm.  And lo and behold, I did.  Its just like a small lipstick, the balm is a blue colour but presumably goes on clear. The insert in the large stand was also updated, so I snapped a couple of pics for you.  Not 100% sure if any of these are new…  And here is a close up of the polishes, I think these are part of the core line.

There we go, I also spotted that Maybeline have brought out their own nail polish remover but I didn’t manage to get a picture of that.  Anything catch your eye?  Let me know in the comments.

Spotted! Updated Maybelline Color Show Stands

Further to my quick post on the new Maybelline Color Show All Access NY top coats, I’ve now seen a fully updated stand.  Seems that we are only getting the black and red toppers, not the others as seen in Europe as on the Gemey-Maybelline Site here.

First up, a close up of the red and white topper.  Yes there are hearts in there.

Below is that stand has has the inserts updated.  You can clearly see the two names.  Also note that the Color Show bottles have been updated with 60 Seconds on them…Moving along the display, you are see there are more than the two Dr Rescue products I saw in another stand.  Seems there are four of them – from left, All in One, Gel Effect Top Coat, Base Coat and SOS Balm.  Curious to see what that last one, the Superdrug website doesn’t help.

Did you pick up any of these this weekend?  Let me know what you’ve spotted in the comments!
