Sally Hansen Satin Glam – Taffetta

Today I have a polish to share with you that I picked up in a pound store, we already seen Iced Metal here on the blog, which I picked up at the same time.  I do love these Satin Glam shades – there is something about the finish of them that makes my heart sing.  Anyway, enough chat, lets check out some pics!

This is a great royal purple shade and the finish is just to die for.  And in the sun, wow.  I took one pic outside and the way it catches the light is just lovely.

Two easy coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 with no top coat.  Drying time is super quick as its akin to a matte polish.  The only thing with these bottles is the very long brush that comes with them.  Great for getting to the end of the bottle but also easy to flood your cuticle and the polish runs down from above the brush on onto your nail.  But worth the little bit of pain I think!

Sally Hansen Satin Glam – Iced Metal

Wow, look at this pretty! Its been hiding away in my stash since I picked it up for £1 at a local pound store (I can’t remember which one…) and when I saw it sat there I just fancied trying it on.  And boy to I wish I tried it earlier!

Lets look at some pictures!

Wow, isn’t this some polish!!  What you see here is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2.  No top coat as it has a satin finish and with a top coat on, you wouldn’t see this lovely finish.  Formula was excellent, one coat was nearly enough.  But two gives a clean even coverage on the nail.

And all for £1!  You can’t go wrong.  And I wore this for three days straight, over a weekend, with no chips!  Love it.  I can assure you it will be on my nails again before long!

What has been your best £1 buy?  Let me know in the comments below.

Sally Hansen Satin Glam – 08 Silk Onyx

I have the second of my Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen to show you today.  As well as having an inordinately large weakness for orange, I love a good black polish too.  This one is firmly in the black family.

This is two coats, over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu!  Formula was a smidge less watery than Sun Sheen, its orange counterpart.  Two coats provided good coverage, I didn’t feel the need to do three, but you could if required.  Its not the blackest black in the stash, but its coal black because of its finish.  Its surprisingly complex with hints of pink, blue and silver at the micro level.  Really unusual and again it does feel soft like satin.

As last time, I picked this up in the US, and I haven’t been able to find any plans to release these in the UK or even European markets.

What do you think?  Would you pick up a stain finish polish?
