Sinful Colors – Flower Power

I keep finding sets of images from earlier this year, not sure how I missed some of these.  Anyway, today I have one of the summer editions from Sinful Colors, which I have seen knocking about on eBay and blog sales.  I still think its worth sharing as its a cutie!

As you can see this is a pink polish packed with glitter.  I’m wearing two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  It was great and fun for summer, I think the colour combination works really well, even if it is pink!

Sinful Colors – Fierce Fiesta

I’ve got lots of polishes to share with you that I picked up from the US.  I’ve got a few posts to catch up, so I’m not going to write reams and ream of words for you to plough through!

I really liked this yellow/red/pink combo, although my hubby said it was quite gross and he didn’t like it at all.  This is one coat of the Sinful Colors over a yellow creme.  It was the splodge and spread technique to spread the glitter out over the nail.  it bubbled a bit too as it dried, probably because I put a bit much on the nail.  But you can only see this if you were up close and personal to my fingers!

As I mentioned above, I picked this up in the US earlier this year – so it may or may not be still knocking about in stores.  There are a few places selling them on eBay so if you like the look of this – or indeed have ideas for a better colour combination that you want to try out!

Sinful Colors – Navy I Do

It must be the slightly cooler weather here (who am I kidding, its been cold here for months and we have had no discernible summer!) but I find myself turning to slightly darker, more autumnal shades.  And I’m loving it, I’ve been puling out some older ones, pushing those pesky glitters to the back of the drawer in my hunt for darker, richer colours.  This one ticked all those boxes – so lets look at some pictures!

This is one seriously dark polish – wow!  I picked this up in the US in a Walgreens, I found it stuck behind the back of the display and I knew it was coming home with me!  This is two coats, over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  Two coats provides excellent coverage and the polish dried quite quickly and levels well.

What was also nice, is that removal didn’t result in my cuticles being stained or my fingers going blue.  Huge bonus points here!

Let me know what you think in the comments .  Have you started the transition to more autumnal shades?  Let me know what you’ve been wearing on your fingers!

Sinful Colors – Rose Dust

I wanted to share this post with you as I note from a number of US Blogs that this Sinful Colors shade can now be found in some of the new Autumn/Fall ranges/displays.  I got mine earlier this year from the lovely G who oversees the excellent Nouveau Cheap (do visit if you haven’t already!)

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

As the name implies, this is a rose pink shade, not super pink but dusky pink.  With a hint of hidden shimmer that leans silver.  now i really didn’t expect to like this on my skin tone as much as I do, but I do.  Formula was excellent and workable.  Two coats here over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Clear As Air Wet n Wild Top coat (WHICH I ADORE AND I WANT MORE OF THEM!).  I honestly think its the silver shimmer that makes me love this – that a G picking it out for me!

Anyway, I believe it popping up in the Oh Snap! Sinful Colors display for those of you in the US.

Let me know what you think in the comments, would you wear this shade?

Sinful Colors – Petal Be The Day

Hey there!  How are things going with you all?  I’m finally back into the swing of things post holiday – its always nice to be home and sleep in your own bed, but lets be honest, as soon as you get back you start planning for your next break.  Or at least we are!

Anyway, I have lots of lovely polishes to share with you all.  Including this beauty from Sinful Colors, part of the Bloomblast collection.  This one is the excellently named Petal Be The Day!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

As you can see, Petal Be The Day is a purple and blue glitter topper, the base is actually quite sheer so I put this over a base of Nella Milano Periwinkle Pucker.  The base is ever so slightly tinted so it darkened the base colour somewhat.  Look at all that glitter loveliness!  Cool huh?

It was a bit of a dab and spread approach to application.  Just painting it on meant the gliltter dragged across the nail and all ended up at the free edge.  Not idea.  Hence the dab and spread.  drying time was quite quick, but I also sealed it with a coat of Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat just to keep the glitter from snagging on anything.

I do like this, I am quite into glitters at the moment and the colour combination is really nice!  What do you think?  Let me know in the comments.

Sinful Colors – Ring The Belini

Just posting this quickly, currently up to my eyeballs in sorting packing and getting the house today before we go away for our family holiday.  I’m so excited about holidays!!!  I love everything about them; airports, duty free shopping, flying etc etc

That aside, I have one of the US Sinful Colors shades I picked up from eBay.  Its a great way to get your hands on some lovely US polishes that we are never going to see on UK shores.  This one is an awesome jelly orange called Ring The Belini, part of the Citrus Twist collection!  Lets take a look!

This is four thin coats to build up the colour.  When it first went on, I though it was going to take forever to build up the colour.  But it does work, the inbuilt orange flakies really pop over the juicy orange jelly and provide great shine to the nail.  I’ve based here with Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.

And you all know how much I love an orange, so this is a no brainer for me.  I love it!

Sinful Colors – Standing Bloom Only

I may have been a bit naughty and ordered from nail polishes from the US via eBay. I fell in love once I saw the Sinful Colors Bloom Blast collection on Nouveau Cheap (I’m just gonna blame G really…) and I also scored a couple of other polishes from the other collections, although sadly not Shamrocking (and I also missed Love Sprinkles from the valentines collection)

Anyway, this is Standing Bloom Only a lovely juicy orange polish packed to the gills with orange and red glitter in all manner of sizes. It really couldn’t be more me if it tried, as soon as I say pictures, I was a goner.

What you see above is two medium coats over a base of Essence Better Than Gel Nails base and topped off with a thick layer of Nails Inc 45 Second Top Coat. Formula is good and workable, I blobbed a fair bit on the nail before spreading it out in an attempt to get even glitter distribution. I needn’t have worried to be fair as this is packed with glitter and it glides onto the nail evenly.

As I mentioned, I picked this up from a seller on eBay who sells lots of drugstore items internationally, presumably to polish addicts like me and US nationals living abroad. I was good, I only got six in total, and lets be clear, it could have been a LOT WORSE!! Are you over glitter containing cremes? I thought I was, and then this collection has just done it for me!

NOTD – SInful Colors Patent Pleasure

I had an urge for a bright colour on my nails, so I popped on this Sinful Colors Sinful Shine shade in Patent Pleasure.  It has a hidden green tinge, but I do love this!

We have seen Patent Pleasure before, right here in fact….

Sinful Colors – Splatter Spell

I found these images languishing on my camera, so thought I would share these with you.  This is a Sinful Colors shade I picked up in the US.  As the name Splatter Spell suggests, this was part of the Halloween 2014 range.  Lets check out some pics.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Here is two coats of Splatter Spell over a base of Barry M Gelly in Lychee, a pale nude shade.  Its a great orange glitter in hexes and shards, along with black pieces in medium and small hexes.  Pretty easy to use, easy to apply on the nail, no complaints here.

I do love a great orange glitter topper, as you may well know!  Its a great way to bling up a day old mani.

Sinful Colors – Mystery Moonshine Fall 2014

Earlier this week, I showed you Echo Dark, one of my US purchases.  I also picked up a number of glitter toppers, including this Sinful Colors.  This is part of the Fall/Halloween 2014 releases and I nearly died when I saw them as I had seen them on a number of US blogs and REALLY wanted it.

Anyway, here is Mystery Moonshine.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This is a shard topper, so its pieces of glitter material but its not glitter.  Hope that makes sense!  Its made up of orange, blue and green pieces, the blue does have purple tendencies.  Its not the same as the toppers from the Revlon Moon Dust polishes, where there are iridescent shards in the translucent base.

It was surprisingly easy to use, what you see about it two thin coats over Echo Dark an then sealed in with one of the Essence Better than Gel Nails top coat (I’m using up half bottles of top coats now…. trying to clear some space!)  What was great, was that none of the shard bits stuck up annoyingly or folded over to create lumps on the nail.

Wish I had seen more shard toppers, there are super unusual and I don’t have any others in my stash.  Let me know what you think in the comments!
