Spotted! Miss Sporty Candy Shine Glitter Effect polishes

Not 100% sure these are new on the shelves, but I think its the first time I have seen these.  New onto the Miss Sporty Stands are Candy Shine Glitter Effect polishes.IMG_7554

The range just appears to be three shades, one green, one pink and one orange with pink (weird!)IMG_7553

I *think* these are RRP £1.99. Again, not 100% sure.  But there you go, not my most informative of posts!

Spotted – Speedy Quick Dry Barry M’s & Essence Trend Editions

If you haven’t been hanging around on social media, you may have missed the new polishes from Barry M.  These are the Speedy Quick Dry range.  Also released is a plumpy top coat. I saw this twice in two different stores, one had been hammered and the other one looked brand new out on the shop floor.  Move quickly as I think these are going to fly off the shelves and some of the blogger swatches are gorgeous!

I also took the opportunity to swing by the Essence pop up to see what Trend Editions were on sale. First up, Like An Unforgettable Kiss range.

And the Mountain Calling winter range.

Models Own – Chrome Rose

More Models Own Colour Chome Collection polishes for you today – this one is Chrome Rose, as you might be thinking, its a rose gold kind of shade.  Not my usual go to colour.  Lets check out the pics!

I think I have fallen for this one too.  As I said above, not a shade I would have naturally bought had it not been for the sale.  But for £2.50 I think its a great purchase.

Formula was good, again (and as with many metallic shades) speed is of the essence here.  I’ve tried several approaches in the last week or so, thin coats is fine but dragging is easier.  I’ve loaded my brush with a tab more polish than I normally would and then pooled in front of my cuticle.  Then I’ve pulled the polish up in one sweep or two for the bigger nails, taking off any excess polish at the same time.  Then a second coat covers all sins!  Just try and see what works best for you.

Anyway, what do you think?  Yay or nay?  Let me know in the comment

Models Own – Chrome Mauve

So the next Chrome Colour polish to grace my fingers was Chrome Mauve. The name pretty much describes the colour within…. its certainly not pink!  Anyway, lets check out some pictures.

Wow.  These chromes are pretty nice huh?  As like Chrome Indigo, the formula is good, quick drying and easy to worth with as a chrome polish can be.  Speed is still needed but the large flatter brush works well in this instance and its a good size for my average size nails.

Have you picked up any of the colour chromes yet?  Let me know what you think in the comments.

Models Own – Chrome Indigo

You may have heard that Models Own were holding a half price sale, around the same time as they launched the Colour Chrome Collection.  Its a series of 10 chrome shades and because there were on sale, I bought them all…. shhh… don’t tell anyone!  We will get through them all over the next couple of weeks or so, but this is the first one – Chrome Indigo!

Gosh I do love this.  Its STUNNING on the nail, stunning!

Care is needed on application, chrome finishes dry fast and can drag leaving bald spots.  Speed is the key.  Thankfully the Models Own brushes are quite wide, so on larger nails its two wipes (one each side).  What you see above is two thin coats, over a base of Nailtiques 2.  No top coat here.

I did worry about wear time and apart from a small chip – my fault, I was using my nail as a tool – the polish wore solidly for two whole days.  Colour me impressed!  I hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship!  And I hear they stamp well, so this could be a winner all around!

For those of you in the US, my experience with these is very similar to that of Sally Hansen Color Foils. So if you missed some, or if you are in the UK lusting after them, these will fill that need!

Did you pick up anything from the Models Own sale?  Does the Colour Chrome Collection catch your eye?

Spotted! Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne & L’Oreal new shades

A couple of things to share with you from recent trips out. First up Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne is now available in the UK, with three shades of polish, all limited edition.IMG_7444
I also spotted that in Superdrug, the L’Oreal stands had been updated with some new images and new shades of polish.
IMG_7445
Yep, that does say wax and latex effect on the two shades on the right.  And yes, they aren’t new, we’ve seen them before in Boots.  So I’m not sure what is going on here… perhaps they are new to Superdrug?

This is the shade that is worn in the promotional image, 121 Royal Orchid.

So there we go, just a few things.  I did cave at the Chanel counter… so that will be up in a couple of days.  Want to guess which one I bought?

Spotted! Rebel Bouquet Collection by Maybelline Color Show

I knew it, I KNEW IT!!  A new Maybelline Color Show collection for Winter/Spring 2015.   This is Rebel Bouquet – an understated collection of five polishes, understated bearing in mind the Be Brilliant and Crystallize Collections!  Anyway, enough yakking – here are the pics!

2015/01/img_7274.jpg

As you can see above, what we are fundamentally talking about is four creme shades and a glitter topper. Now look at the glitter topper in the image, to me it looks white, with green and blue in? Yes? Possibly even SHAPED blue glitter?

2015/01/img_7275.jpg

From the left (426) Peach Bloom, (427) Fuchsia Petal, (428) Vivid Rose, (429) Orchid Violet and (430) Top Coat Bouquet. As we saw in this post here, Bouquet is actually a mix of white and pinky red. No blue nor green. Not sure what is going on there, seems a bit odd.

2015/01/img_7276.jpgJust so you know I’m not going crackers, here is the image for Bouquet from the Superdrug website – see?  its not what it looks like above.

I am quite gutted about that, a white, green and blue spring like topper would have been awesome!  From what I can tell, the white/green topper is a Europe edition.  I found this on Amazon.Fr showing the other topper.  Nothing on Gemey Maybelline France yet. Clearly the marketing team in the UK got the wrong image.  *sigh* don’t forget this wouldn’t be the first time this has happened, remember the Europe only changes to both the Acid Wash effects AND the Nail Vinyl collection.

Finally, in the US, Rebel Bloom is a collection of lipsticks as seen here on Nouveau Cheap, wonder if we might see them in coming weeks??

Anyway, first of the new collections from the high street.  Lots of 3 for 2 offers on, so if this catches your eye, get on out there.  Did you pick these up?  Let me know in the comments.

Speedy Swatches – Maybelline Color Show Crystallize Collection

OK, here we go.  I didn’t have much time and I have literally just swatched these onto sticks so you can see them.  After my first thought that one was a bit like Downtown Brown or even Total Eclipse, I can say that I was not right.

First up – Red Excess – dark red/brown with red accents.  Reminded me of Stay the Night from the OPI Liquid Sand Mariah Carey collection or a red (instead of plum) version Countess by Barry M

Rose Chic – a pink with different glitter sizes.  Not girly pink, kind of a purple leaning pink but not lilac or lavender.

Light Up – a pure silver texture polish

Nearly Black – this is black with accents of blue and pink, its like a textured Butter London The Black Knight.
