More stamping with Born Pretty BP-L020 a plate filled with lovely lacy designs.  I love this plate just a little bit.. *sigh*

This plate is just great, I love all the designs and I can see many many ways I would wear this.  I can’t remember what colour it is underneath, but I have a feeling it might be either Lancome or Nella Milano and my notes are no use either – which is unlike me.  The silver is the BP Silver Stamping polish we’ve seen before.  Both the stamping plate and the polish are excellent.  The plate is well etched and super easy to use.  I used my Creative Shop stamper which really does provide crisp transfer of any images.

Born Pretty Stamping Plate – Forest Patterns Plate BP – L015

OOhhh I am on a stamping roll…. I’m really getting into this at the moment!

This is over a base of Nella Milano Evergreen*, a lovely forest green creme shade.  One coat of this over a base of Essence Anti Split Nail Sealer.  I then stamped with my Born Pretty Silver Stamping polish* using my Creative Stamper and sealed it in with a coat of Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.

I love this leaf-esque design, I think it really pops being silver over the darker green.  Gorgeous!  The quality of the stamping plate is excellent.  The plate BP-L015 is well etched and provided a crisp transfer. Plus I love the rectangular plate as it fits neatly alongside my other brands.  You can see the BP-L0151 plate here on the BP website.  The plate has lots of other tree or leaf designs on it, lots of opportunity for interesting nail art here!

Born Pretty Stamping Plate BP-L020

*Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review but this does not influence the opinions expressed in this blog which are entirely my own.

I’ve been sent some lovely Born Pretty Plates to play with and I have a couple of looks I am going to share with you this week.  First up is this look using BP-L020 a plate filled with lovely lacy designs.  I was quite taken with this plate and I wasn’t sure where to start.  But in the end I plumped for the lace pattern at the bottom left of the image.

I used a base of Barry M Gelly Lychee to provide a nude base so that it wouldn’t detract too much from the stamping.  I then stamped over the top, using WnW Black Creme that I keep in my stamping stash, before sealing it all in with my Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  I did managed to smear my thumb nail and so just dropped in a little bit more stamping because I was running out of time to get this finished.

I love how classy and clean this looks, I think anyone would be able to carry off this design and colour way.  It provides interest without being too in your face.  The quality of the stamp plate is great, the designs are smaller than those you would find on a MoYou XL plate, but bigger than those on the regular plate.  They are a good size for my nails.  I also used my Creative Stamper which I find works really well with the BP plates and delivers a crisp image onto the nail.

Rose Gold Flamingo Nails

Today’s mani was something that I did for my last day in my old job – I’ve been gone for three weeks now and it still feels odd.  Anyway, fo rmy last day I picked up this gorgeous flamingo scarf in M&S of all places.  I was struck by its rose gold flamingos and then I remembered one of my Moyou plates has a flamingo design on.  And viola!

This is a base of Cult Nails Tempest, my current go to white stamped with the flamingos from Moyou Tropical plate 04 in Models Own Chrome Rose.

I LOVE THIS – I was thrilled with my stamping and all 10 nails looked awesome!  Base was Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top coat.  Love love love!  I think I will do this again over black – bloody love it!

Born Pretty Plate 55 with silver stamping

*Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review but this does not influence the opinions expressed in this blog which are entirely my own.

I wanted to quickly share this other Born Pretty Stamping plate I was kindly sent for review.  I’ve become slightly obsessed with these geometric/tribal designs for nails.  Firstly, they don’t need to be lined up in any particular way and secondly they are just awesome.  In fact, this plate is BP-55 and is called Awesome Petal Design plate and you can check it out on the BP website here.

I used the silver metallic stamping polish also sent to me for review (we’ve seen that here as well).  My previous experience of the plate and the polish holds up here again.  But to be clear – the plate is well etched and comes with a clear blue film.  Remove the film before use.  I always clean my plates with a quick sweep of acetone on a cotton pad (make sure its a good quality one or it will shed) and then consider them ready to go.

As for the stamping, I’ve been using my Creative Stamper a lot.  Its very easy to use and I find it gives great clear definition of the design when you transfer onto the nail.  Always important with the more delicate designs.  Do not use acetone on it or it will melt.  I remove unwanted polish with a wide roll of sticky tape.

The silver stamping polish is easy to work with and doesn’t dry too quickly.  This means if you have a big-ish design (like above) you can get two nails (usually my little finger and one other) done at the same time.  So that knocks a couple of minutes right off there.

If you are wondering what base colour I used, I was wearing Tapage by Chanel (bought by myself), something bright and bold now that we’ve had some sunny weather.  I think the silver works well over the top of this.

Born Pretty Store Plate BP-21and silver stamping polish

*Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review but this does not influence the opinions expressed in this blog which are entirely my own.

I have more plates from the Born Pretty Store – this is the first one to share with you all, BP-21, which has a number of geometric designs on.  There are circles, waves, an ornate pattern and geometric lines.  For this mani I used the geometric lines.  You can find this plate here on the BP website.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I was also sent a silver stamping polish, which you can see here on the BP website, which I also used to create the mani above. I love the colour combination of blue and silver.  This blue is my Lancome Vernis In Love Nuit D’azur (purchase by me) which we’ve seen on my blog before here.

Anyway, this plate is fabulous.  I am in love with the designs and I can see that I will get a lot of use from it.  I used the geometric lines to go with an outfit that had an asymmetric top, so I thought the lines would work well.  Plus the top was almost the same blue as the base polish.

The plate comes with a transparent blue plastic cover which you need to remove before using.  The plate feels well etched and the designs are a good size.  I always clean my plates with acetone before use.  I also recently bought a Creative Stamper, which I have been getting to grips with and I can say that I love that too!

The silver polish is designed to be used for stamping and I have to say, I’m quite impressed  I have been using the Models Own Colour Chrome polishes, but they dry very quickly on the plate and so the stamping polish doesn’t dry as quickly.  This is good as the plate designs are big enough that if I work quickly, I can get two nails done at once.

If you are looking for a good silver polish, and you have your eye on other items on BP, I can highly recommend this polish.  And I am more than happy to recommend the stamping plates I have experienced.  There are a huge range of items on the BP store, although do note that because it is the Chinese New Year, orders are subject to delay whilst the store is closed.

MoYou Tropical Stamping Plate 04

2015/01/img_7271.jpg

I have had a bit of a weekend playing around with my stamping plates and the like. I was quite taken with MoYou Tropical plate 04, as you can see above, its got some great flowers and greenery images.

Below I have stapped using Colors By Llarowe Black Gold Texas Tea, which is just perfect for stamping, over a base of Nella Milano in Iron Spring. Wow, I love a holographic stamp! Will be trying this again as soon as I can!

Christmas Nails with MoYou Nail Plates

I’ve been playing about with my MoYou Christmas plates, practicing with the plates and trying different colour combinations.  Its the Festive Plate 04.

This first one is Sally Hansen Insta Dri Redio Active stamped with Wet N Wild White and Insta Dri Presto Pewter. Its topped with my P2 holo glitter topper, for a wee bit of sparkle and sealed in with Essence Better Than Gel Nails top coat. This is the design on the top left of the plate.IMG_6964.JPGThis second combination is a dark blue metallic Insta Dri (the name escapes me….) stamped with Wet N Wild White, topped with P2 Holo glitter and sealed in with Essence Better Than Gel Nails top coat.  This is the second image on the top left hand side.

I do love these plates, I have another one in the stash, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

MoYou Tropical Collection Plate 05 – Flamingo-a-go-go

ooohhhh I am so very pleased with these nails – I just adore them.  I took the plunge and bought another MoYou plate.  This is Tropical Collection Plate 05 and its filled with tropical birds but what caught my eye was the lovely flamingos!

These stamps are all over a base of Maybelline Color Show Black Onyx and then stamping is in four Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes from poundland.  I love how the pink actually pops out over the black.  Love it!

I am getting much more confident with stamping and I do love how this one looks.  I think its the first time I have used more than one colour for stamping within one mani.

Hope you like it!
