LOOK AT THE ORANGENESS!!  Isn’t it awesome??  Its so very bright and summery and perfect for long sunny summer days.  I love this shade, its juicy and bright and it fullfils my need for great orange shades.  On me this pulls more orange than coral.  Formula was excellent – as I have come to expect from Nella MIlano.  What you see here is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 (purchased by me).  It was almost a one coat wonder, just my OCD over a visible free nail edge kicked in and so I did a second one,  This is all sealed in my Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat (purchased by me).

Love shades like this, perfect for that pop of colour!

In their own words ‘Made in France, Nella Milano nail lacquers are colour rich and long-lasting, making it very easy to keep your nails naturally chic at all times.  Nella Milano stands for effortlessly stylish, elegant and fashionable.  There is a Nella for any mood and personality and Nella Milano colours will perfect and complement any individual style.’

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Crystal Coral should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, get moving!

Zoya- Kimber

Another set of images that somehow I missed, this is the delightful Kimber from Zoya Surf Collection.

A wonderful pink red with that trademark shimmer.  Lovely, its very hard to capture the true colour in images, but it is stunning.  Formula was excellent and this is two average coats.  I can’t remember what I topped with but its more than likely Seche Vite.

Love it.  What do you think?

Dior – Saint Tropez

An oldie but a goodie for you today.  This is Saint Tropez by Dior.  Its not from the original, limited edition release, but from the re-issue from last Summer 2012.  It was released along side Bikini as part of the Dior Croisette Collection- which you can see here in my post from last year

The formula on this is amazing, perfect coverage in two flawless coats.  Amazing.  I used my newest base coat, Stuck on Blu!, which I purchased directly from the lovely Jill at Glisten & Glow, an online beauty etailer.  I’ve been eying this for a while but I decided to take the plunge after seeing some positive reviews.  And I paired it with my new bottle of G & G HK Girl Top Coat, which I have raved about before.  Jill sent me these bottles, along with some other things I purchased AND a cuticle oil.  Which is also awesome.  But I digress….

As with all Dior bottles, the cap pops off revealing a cap with gripped sides for easy use.  The brush is one of my favourites out there, tapered with a curve so that you can paint close to your cuticles. Very happy with that.  As I said, formula was excellent, two coats provided perfect self leveling coverage.

Sadly, I believe Saint Tropez is now discontinued.  However, other collections by Dior are available from high end department stores in the UK, such as Debenhams and Selfridges.  It can also be found in the larger Boots stores.  Polish retails at £18.  Lucky ladies in the US can order directly from Dior.com

Dior – Bikini

I’m a very lucky girl.  This turned up on my birthday as a gift from my mum.  This and St Tropez no less.  Wow.  I’d been eying up the Spring/Summer Dior Croisette collection for some time, I’d even given Waterlily, from the Garden Party Collection and its other scented counterpart a miss.  But I longed for those two.

Bikini is a coral, pink, slightly orange tinged polish.  Blessed with the lovely Dior formula it really hits a home run…

What you see above, its Seche Retain as a base coat, followed by two rather swift coats of Bikini and then Hong Kong Girl Top Coat (she really goes well with everyone).  Coverage was excellent, I could hardly see my nail line with one coat, two was perfection.  Plus it dried well in between coats that as soon as I had done all my fingers I was nearly ready to do a second coat.  I love that.  It didn’t drag or pull, just glided onto the nail.

Wear was also excellent.  I pulled out some similar shades from the stash, Catrice Pimp My Shrimp is more orange/pink, WnW Club Havana is also more orange and WnW Heatwave is much more orange.  So I have nothing like it.  Score! Oh and I am ROCKING St Tropez toes…. seriously cool colour…

Chanel – Sky Line

I have a lovely LOVELY polish to share with you today.  This is Sky Line, a limited edition Summer 2012 release from Chanel that forms part of the Illusion Bleu collection.  The collection comprises of 2 blue eye shadows, an eyeliner in blue and Sky Line.  I do not know how limited but it was only available in one store near me and I can’t find it anywhere online at the moment (although I am well aware that might change)

Sky Line is a sky blue, pearlescent polish.  Its very light and playful.  It stay on the right side of frost (and I’m sure you will be pleased as I was about that).  You can see white ripples running through the bottle as you turn it in your hands.

Formula was lovely, the polish just glided onto the nail with no major issues of any kind.  It was opaque within two coats, although I did three just to ensure an even coat on all my nails.  Drying time is excellent, really good and it dries to a good finish.  I based coated with Seche Retain and top coated with Hong Kong Girl for a bit of extra shine and a dollop of good wear.  I love how the light just catches it, every time I glance at my fingers, it has a slightly different hue to its colour.

Chanel is readily available at Boots and high end department stores.  I hear the Sky Line is exclusive to Selfridges in the UK and them only certain stores in its chain.  I bought mine in the Exchange Square store for £18.

Chanel – Holiday

Ah Chanel, you purveyor of polish goodness that is in high demand across the world.  I’ll be honest, much as I love the last few Chanel polishes I have bought, a little voice inside my head keeps telling me the formula is not as good a it used to be.  To a point, that voice is right.  But along comes Summertime De Chanel 2012 and the fantastic hot orange that is Holiday.

Holiday is a super saturated, intense, hot orange creme that could not have had a better name.  It sunshine, sun screen, ice creams and beaches all in one bottle but is not a neon.  In fact, its a complete blinder.

The formula on this is flawless (HURRAH!), glides on the nail like butter with prefect consistency.  It dries well and evenly.  Plus if you are a thick coater, you probably could get away with one coat.  What you see above is two with a coat of Seche Vite for extra shine, although it does dry glossy so the top coat is for wear extending purposes.

And I love it.  Love it!  Wear is amazing, plus I’ve had it on my toes since I bought it (10 days and counting) and its such a flattering colour on any skin tone.  I actually bought this as they were unpacking the delivery in the store, which is surprising as usually they get them a few days early.

If you only buy one polish from the extensive Summer Collections (Dior, Chanel, Lancome etc) you wouldn’t put a perfectly polished finger wrong with this.  Chanel retails for £18 in stores at all Chanel counters.

New Things I have Spotted (Holiday Edition, part 2) #17 – Bourjois and NYC Nail Polishes

Bourjois is pulling out the SUmmer 2012 stops let me tell you.  A whole raft of new 1 Seconde Nail polishes, see below, including one that is very purple and very sparkly called Rainbow Apparition.  From what I have googled, it looks like a good polish for a top coat.

I also so this (below), Bourjois 1 Seconde Gloss in Grendine Tonic.  A very sheer red tinted top coat.  I put it over my coral nails and it became a bit pinker.  Anyway, I couldn’t get a picture, so this one is from nonstopmama.com

And a new display of NYC Polishes, I think these are nearly all the core line apart from the lilac and mint green ones which were part of a previous Spring display.

I have yet to see the new Barry M Chameleon Polishes which you can see on Polly Polish and I understand that there is also a Retro 80s line of polishes too.  Images is from their Facebook page.  The peach one is a Boots only exclusive.  The Facebook page is great for fast updates as their name website isn’t updated very often at all.

So, anything catch your eye??
