Wet N Wild Megalast – Sun Settle Down

I think we all now by now that I love a good orange polish, this is no exception and comes from the same range, Summer 2015 California Dreaming as the other Megalast Sky Me Mine I shared a few weeks ago.  You can see most of the range here on Nouveau Cheap.  And what isn’t there to love with Wet N Wild and their Megalast range – they are very reasonable and of (usually) good quality.

This is a lovely creamsicle orange colour, really perfect for summer and I love this shade.  Formula was good, the Megalast brush is a joy to work with.  Its easy to use and because it is tapered, makes getting near but not on your cuticle simple.  This is two coats over a case of Nailtiques 2, topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat sealing it in.

What do you think?  Do you have a favourite creamy orange colour?  Let me know in the comments.

Chanel – Mediterranee

As we saw this weekend, the new Chanel Les Automnales Collection is now out and so I thought it best to get this review up asap!  This is the final shade I purchased from the Summer 2015 Collection and is the collections namesake Mediterranee – lets check out some pics.

This is a gorgeous teal creme, and its simply stunning.  This is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and I have used one of the top coats I picked up in the US called Essie Gel Setter and is part of the Essie Gel Style Nails collection.  I’ve used this with several different polish brands and it dries fast and hard – bloody awesome!

As for the Chanel, which is really what I’m meant to be focusing on…. the formula is as good as you would expect with Chanel.  Smooth, creamy and prefect coverage.  I don’t think this is limited edition, but if you do like it and have been thinking of it, its worth checking just in case!

Chanel – Lavanda

Finally catching up with some of my recent purchases, I did take the plunge a buy two more shades from the Chanel Méditerranée Summer 2015 collection.  We’ve already seen Terrana and I also have Méditerranée.  This one is the stunning purple of the collection, called Lavanda.

Lets check out some pics!

As you can see above, Lavanda is a lovely vivid purple creme.  I love this, such a great shade and perfect for Summer.  I think I will pop it on my toes next!

Formula is excellent, as are most Chanel cremes, I am smitten!  Wear time, over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Essie Gel Shine top coat was excellent.  Three days and no chips!  How happy was I with that!  Those Chanel brushes are just fab and I really love them!

What do you think?  Did you pick up Lavanda?

Spotted! Autographs Nails by M&S & YSL Pop Water Collection

Not lots out and about, its the calm before the Autumn/Winter rush of releases.

First up is the new Autograph polish range in M&S, a good solid range of colours with top and base coats.

Then a new YSL Collection called Pop Water.  Looks like jellie shades going on here!
Four in the range, probably provide a bit of a tint on a nail?  I’ve not seen any review yet, but I am sure they are coming Anything catch your eye?  Let me know in the comments!

Wet N Wild Megalast – Sky Me Mine

OOohhhhh for those of you that have been around these parts for a long time, then you know that this girl loves some Wet N Wild Megalast polishes. Like in a bad bad way. I first got my hands on the new-er style bottles through swapping, back when getting polish in the mail was OK. But we know it not and we never post it internationally.

So imagine my delight, whilst in the US to come across some of the new Megalast releases!  This is from the California Dreaming collection, seen here on Nouveau Cheap. I also grabbed one of the new silver bottle top coats – which we are using below.

Look at that blue!  Its so bright.  And lovely. And not a dark vibrant blue!  I love this, such a wearable summer colour!

One of the best things about the Megalast polishes are the brushes, which are similar to the Dior brush in that they are tapered and allow you to get really close to the cuticle without touching it.  They are flat and rounded.  Love them.  I think you also get them in the newer Sally Hansen CSM range (can anyone confrim??).  You can see some brush pics on this blog post by A Girl, Obsessed from 2012.

Anyway, formula was OK, two coats provides opacity.  The top coat however BLEW MY SOCKS OFF!  I love this.  Quick drying, albeit a bit stinky, its my second current fave after my Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  Its a steal for whatever I paid for it (probably $3 plus tax)

Spotted! New Rimmel Stands

Another quick stopped update for you – new display stands are being whipped into stores up and down the country!  I have to admit I’m not 100% sure these are new shades as I know Venus was a release earlier this year….  Maybe its the more summery shades that are new… who knows!

But exciting with new stands, come new offers.  I can’t remember what this one is, but you get something free when you spend £9….

Chanel – Terrana

I’m a bit late to the Chanel Summer party this year, there a four gorgeous shades in the Chanel Méditerranée Summer 2015 collection.  Only one of the four appears to be limited edition and it was the one the spoke directly to me.  So of course I had to have it.  This is Terrana.

Now I’ll be honest here, I have very few browns in my collection.  No true browns.  A few taupes.  Some coppers.  But only really one chocolate brown.  Nothing like this.  This is lovely.  Really seriously lovely.  The colour is popping off my suntanned skin.  It really works hard to make my nails look awesome!

The formula is good, not as perfect as the creme formula, but excellent.  Its an easy two coats.  Bish bosh and you are done.  This is over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  Drying time was average.  The Chanel brush is thin and flexible, easy to use in other words!

I do really fancy the other three in this collection, even another Chanel red… but I have been very very good.  This is the only one I have.  Did you pick up anything from this collection?  Let me know in the comments!

Spotted – Revlon The Sahara Escape Collection Spring/Summer 2015

Passing my local Boots, I noted that the Revlon stand had been updated with the new Sahara Escape Collection.  Six items in total, one polish.

I didn’t see any Limited Edition wording and the nail polish had also been inserted into the main polish displays.  As its marked up as Spring Summer 2015, I wonder if we might be a release for Summer.  Guess we will see!
