Pure Ice – Sheer Luck

Quick post today, been playing with some of the glitters in my stash.  This is Sheer Luck by US brand Pure Ice.  I was sent this by a buddy in the US a few months ago.  This is a mix of green glitter with small purple and blue holo diamonds in it.

As you can probably tell, I wore this over black to bring out the colours in the glitter.  In this case its two coats of Color Show Black Onyx (a surprisingly good black) topped with one coat of glitter.  I based with G&G Stuck on Blu! and once the glitter coat had dried a bit I topped with G&G HK Girl.

Would probably look good over a green shade too or even a dark blue.  Glitter concentration in the clear base was good, no fishing required for the diamond pieces either which is always a bonus.  From what I understand (ie what the internet tells me) Pure Ice Polishes are available exclusively in Walmart in the US.  I have seen them on eBay too.

What colour would you were under this?  Let me know what you think!

Sally Hansen Satin Glam – 08 Silk Onyx

I have the second of my Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen to show you today.  As well as having an inordinately large weakness for orange, I love a good black polish too.  This one is firmly in the black family.

This is two coats, over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu!  Formula was a smidge less watery than Sun Sheen, its orange counterpart.  Two coats provided good coverage, I didn’t feel the need to do three, but you could if required.  Its not the blackest black in the stash, but its coal black because of its finish.  Its surprisingly complex with hints of pink, blue and silver at the micro level.  Really unusual and again it does feel soft like satin.

As last time, I picked this up in the US, and I haven’t been able to find any plans to release these in the UK or even European markets.

What do you think?  Would you pick up a stain finish polish?

Sally Hansen Satin Glam – 04 Sun Sheen

More delights from my trip to the US – this is one of the new Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen.  The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that the bottles are the same as the Lustre Shine ones, tall and tapered towards the top.  I think it looks a bit like a teardrop.

Anyway, you know how I love a good orange polish…. this is Sun Sheen

The formula on this does look quite watery, however, what you see above it three thin coats and look how the colour builds up.  Its a really sunny orange with a nice shimmery feel.  It dried quickly, and dries to a matte-esque finish.  As the name suggests its a satin finish.  And oddly, it does actually feel soft on the nail and before you know it, you will find yourself running it over your bottom lip….. oh… just me then….

I do like this, and the satin finish does make it a bit unusual in my stash.  *phew* I can keep it then!  Plus, I was super surprised to see them instore in NYC because this article from imabeautygeek.com suggests it would be Feb 2014 before they came out and I think I paid about $7.  In fact, I saw everything in this post, in particular the Triple Shine polishes in several larger stands.

I doubt we will get to see these in the UK, but they seem to be readily available on eBay for not too much money, but of course the sting is in the postage.  If only I could convince the hubby to take me back……

What do you think then?  Another finish gimmick or something you might be interested in?  Let me know in the comments

Sinful Colors Sinful Shine – Patent Pleasure

This is another polish from the few that my lovely sister picked me up on her recent trip to the US.  Here in the UK, we’ve been super excited to finally get Sinful Colors instore at Boots – after years of lusting after them on US nail blogs.  We have a huge range in the UK, but from what I can tell, we don’t seem to be getting the limited edition runs that you see in the US.  This is from a new range within the Sinful Colors brand, Sinful Colors Sinful Shine.

Now, you know I love my oranges and this one is a STUNNER.  I give you Patent Pleasure

Patent Pleasure is tangerine orange, with a slight duochrome of a green shade within it.  Formula was lovely, fluid and easy to control.  What you see above it three coats simply to ensure no VNL.  Wow, love this.  It does dry super shiny, as its advertised as having a a gel like finish.  It does dry to a super shiny finish.  However, as I knew I was going to have to wear this for several days as I was out and about, I did go over it with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl (UK link here) and it wore exceptionally well.

I love colours like this, my all time fave colour with a bit of a twist.

What do you think?  Do you have anything like this in your stash?

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine – Lava

Super quick update for you today, flying in and out all over the place!

This is a Sally Hansen Lustre Shine that I picked up last year on our trip to Florida.  Love this, super eye catching and it gets a lot of comments when I wear it.

I based with Seche Clear and topped with Seche Vite.  Formula was good, brush was easy to work with, and the colour is just lovely.  The Seche top coat did give it a bit of tip shrinkage, but the second time I wore it I used Out the Door and it was fine.

What do you think?
