About PN&BS

My name is Lou and I am addicted to nail polish.  I’m a thirty-something mum and wife, living in in North West England near Manchester.  I’ve been into nail polish for as long as I can remember – I was one of the fortunate few to get my hands on the first bottles of Chanel Rouge Noir that came into the UK.  I still have it.

This blog has been running since August 2011 and all images and content unless otherwise described are mine.

About PN&BS

This blog, combines two of my favourite things – nail polish and baking.  My husband suggested that I use a blog to keep track of my ever changing nail polish and the baking that I do, with some handy notes, and so after a bit of word play we came up with this title.

What types of blog posts will I see on PN&BS?

Swatches – polishes, purchased by me unless otherwise indicated, tested and photographed.  These are my honest experiences with products.

Spotted! – a chance to see what is new to the nail polish market in the UK

Second Chance Saturday where I revisit older polishes or wear one that has been seen on the blog before

Baking – where I saw what I’ve been rustling up in the kitchen.  This is why my blog has the ‘& Baking Scales’ part of its name

Comments are, of course, very welcome as are suggestions for new blog links either for polish blogs or baking blogs.

Other things to note

I take all my pictures on my iPhone.  They are unedited and not adjusted for colour.  Where possible I will take an image outside so that you can see any difference in natural light.

I change my nail polish almost daily.  My favourite polish brand is (and will be for all time) Chanel.  I have several hundred polishes and I don’t feel bad about it at all.

My nail care regime involves hand cream (lots), cuticle oils (several), hand scrubs and the ongoing use of acetone based nail polish remover.  I have these all over the house, in my handbag and on my desk at work.

My favourite nail polish colours are orange and red.
