Sinful Colors – Flower Power

I keep finding sets of images from earlier this year, not sure how I missed some of these.  Anyway, today I have one of the summer editions from Sinful Colors, which I have seen knocking about on eBay and blog sales.  I still think its worth sharing as its a cutie!

As you can see this is a pink polish packed with glitter.  I’m wearing two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  It was great and fun for summer, I think the colour combination works really well, even if it is pink!

Nella Milano – Pinky Ponk

Nella Milano time!  This week its a dark pink, almost raspberry shade!  Lets look at some pics!

So its pink.  Quite Pink. And the name?  Hilarious.  Reminds me of In the Night Garden!  Anyway, formula was a bit streaky on this one, thicker than I am used to with Nella shades so I think it just might be my bottle.  This is two coats over a case of Nailtiques 2 and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.

Not quite my shade, but would be great for days when I’m being more low key in the polish dept!
On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Pinky Ponk should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!Nella banner 728x90

Sinful Colors – Fierce Fiesta

I’ve got lots of polishes to share with you that I picked up from the US.  I’ve got a few posts to catch up, so I’m not going to write reams and ream of words for you to plough through!

I really liked this yellow/red/pink combo, although my hubby said it was quite gross and he didn’t like it at all.  This is one coat of the Sinful Colors over a yellow creme.  It was the splodge and spread technique to spread the glitter out over the nail.  it bubbled a bit too as it dried, probably because I put a bit much on the nail.  But you can only see this if you were up close and personal to my fingers!

As I mentioned above, I picked this up in the US earlier this year – so it may or may not be still knocking about in stores.  There are a few places selling them on eBay so if you like the look of this – or indeed have ideas for a better colour combination that you want to try out!

Sinful Colors – Rose Dust

I wanted to share this post with you as I note from a number of US Blogs that this Sinful Colors shade can now be found in some of the new Autumn/Fall ranges/displays.  I got mine earlier this year from the lovely G who oversees the excellent Nouveau Cheap (do visit if you haven’t already!)

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

As the name implies, this is a rose pink shade, not super pink but dusky pink.  With a hint of hidden shimmer that leans silver.  now i really didn’t expect to like this on my skin tone as much as I do, but I do.  Formula was excellent and workable.  Two coats here over a base of Nailtiques 2 and topped off with Clear As Air Wet n Wild Top coat (WHICH I ADORE AND I WANT MORE OF THEM!).  I honestly think its the silver shimmer that makes me love this – that a G picking it out for me!

Anyway, I believe it popping up in the Oh Snap! Sinful Colors display for those of you in the US.

Let me know what you think in the comments, would you wear this shade?

Nella Milano – Sweetie Darling

How can another week have passed?  How?  I don’t know about you but time is passing quickly – and the weather has been less than kind.  Where is this summer??  We’ve hardly seen any here.  But never mind that, I have a bright pop of a pink polish to share with you today!  This is Sweetie Darling from Nella Milano.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Formula for this shade was quite thick, I could have got away with just one but did two so that it was opaque over the whole nail surface.  As a pink leaning blue, I’m not 100% convinced I can pull this off, but its meant to be summer so hey!  I’m working it.  I based using Nailtiques 2 and topped using my trust Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  It did take a bit longer than usual to dry, so that might be because of the formula thickness.

Nanacoco – Milky Shaky

I’ve not been very consistent in showing you my gorgeous polishes from my swap with G of Nouveau Cheap – apologies.  I got waylaid by Chanel….. not very wallet friendly I know… anyway.  Back to the stunning (but smelly) milky glitters of Nanacoco.  This one is called Milky Shaky and reminded me a little bit of Whimsical, but its not the same at all!  Lets check out some pics!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Milky Shaky is a pale blue base packed with glitters in pink and blue, with tiny tiny specs of green or turquoise.  As with Shu Cream, this one has that scent which can put you off if you are sensitive to chemical scents.  The formula was a bit thick, but with glitters that isn’t a bad thing or it can slide off the nail or pool at the sides (which means it never dries…..)

What you see above is two or three coats, and that depended on glitter placement.  If I felt it was a bit glitter light, another coat went on!  I used the Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat (last seen pairs with Shu Cream) – which I am becoming a huge fan of. I then topped with a good coat of Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat which seals it all in with a shine and reduces the stick of the polish.

This was so cute on my nails, I couldn’t stop looking at them!  As a bonus, removal was super easy and I was able to get my next polish on in record time!

What do you think?  Yay or nay?  Let me know in the comments!

Nella Milano – Moon Whisper

Its mid week so its Nella Milano time.  This week we have Moon Whisper for your viewing pleasure.  This is a pale pink shade and lets check out some pictures!

This is a very pale pink, almost matching my skin tone.  It is a mannequin manicure on me for sure.  What you can see here is two coats over a base of Nailtiques 2 (still with the peeling nails…) and then topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat.  i wasn’t 100% sure that two coats would cut it, but it works fine.  It was certainly a palate cleanser!

On the website you can search by collection, there are eight sets and one set of top and base coat www.nellamilano.com.  You can also visit the brand on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook to keep up to date with releases and current shades.  The price point is £8.95.  But this week, Moon Whisper should be on offer for £4.95, so if you like the look of this, this is the week to take the plunge and buy!

Nella Milano – Lady Lavender

Well hello there!  Hope you’ve all been having a great week so far.  This is a scheduled post as I am currently away on holiday with my family.  We are off hitting the US of A and when I get back I hope to have some lovely nail pretties for you to drool over!

But enough of that, today I want to share with you another lovely Nella Milano shade I have been asked to review.  This one is called Lady Lavender and, as the name suggests, is a lavender shade.  Its not too pale, but its not a dark shade either; lets check out the pics!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

What you see above is three thin coats over a base of Essence Anti Nail Split Base (purchased by me) topped with a layer of Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat (purchased by me).  The colour was quite hard to capture, as it is more purple leaning than the pictures would have you believe.  However, you get quite a good idea of the colour on the Nella Milano page here.

Formula was good, a bit of the thin side, hence three coats but the colour builds up really well and I don’t like to overload by brush.  Drying time was also good.  Wear time was also good, these polishes seem to play well with my chosen top coat.  The brush is thin yet flexible and you can get coverage for one nail with one dip of the brush.  I was surprised how much I loved this shade once I got it on my nails.  Maybe its something to do with the improved weather we had whilst I was swatching.

In their own words ‘Made in France, Nella Milano nail lacquers are colour rich and long-lasting, making it very easy to keep your nails naturally chic at all times.  Nella Milano stands for effortlessly stylish, elegant and fashionable.  There is a Nella for any mood and personality and Nella Milano colours will perfect and complement any individual style.’

Nella Milano – Blushing Bloom

Hello!  Please note this is a  scheduled post, I am away on holiday in the USA.  The blog won’t be very busy for the next couple of weeks apart from the few things I have scheduled to keep you all entertained.

Today I have a Nella Milano polish for you today, this one is a great bright hot pink shade – just like fabulous summer blooms. Lets check out some pictures!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Blushing Bloom is a bright spring/summer shade, it does pop off the nail and does have blue undertones.  This is two coats over a base of Essence Anti Nail Split Base coat (purchased by me) and topped with Nails Inc Kensington Top Coat (purchased by me).  Formula was good, it was nearly opaque in one coat and it did dry to a great shiny finish but I top coated anyway.  And this is very bright, brighter than the images might lead you to believe.  But for a pink, its easy wearing and a real eye catcher!
