Liquid Lacquer – OB2001

A bit of an oldie for you today – I was sent this by my polish picking friend in the US and I’ve used it a couple of times since I got it.  I do love a nice holo and the sunny weather is a good reason to crack them out.

This is OB2001 from Liquid Lacquer

Its a lovely pale-ish green shade, I probably wouldn’t have picked it myself but I love the freshness of it.  Formula was also excellent, this is three thin coats over a base of G&G Stuck on Blu!  I topped off with my G&G HK Girl which apart form being awesome, does not dull or reduce the holo effect in any polish I have put it over.  No exception here.

Love it!  What are your favourite holos?  Let me know in the comments

KBShimmer – Band Geek

For todays post is a wonderful KBShimmer polish called Band Geek.  Its an black tinted base with gold, silver and copper glitter suspended within it.  Its pretty awesome!

What you see is three thin coats.  I was super pleased with the coverage of this, I was worried it was going to be a bit transluscent, but I needn’t have worried.  Colour built up well and the glitter distribution remained even. It dried well between coats and was nowhere near as bumpy as it could be.  It was very smooth.  A layer of Seche Vite Top Coat soon solved any residual bumpiness.

I just love the glitter placement, it works so well and looks so lovely.  In the sunlight the glitter catches in all sorts of way and it reallt is unlike anything else I own.  I just adore it.

You can order from the website (US Only), order from the etsy site (US only) or order from Harlow&Co (International).  I ordered from Harlow&Co and was delighted with the speedy shipping. I now have my eye on a couple from the Fall collection, wow, am just smitten with these lovelies.

Hare – Dog Day Dream

I have a lovely indie polish to show you from the wonderful talented HARE polish.  I bought two for my first foray into this range having heard lots of lovely and wonderful things about the quality and colours.  I’m not disappointed in any way, only I now wish I had bought more.

This is Dog Day Dream form the Where’s Summer, B? Summer 2012 collection, a jellie pinky red polish with pink, purple and red glitter embedded within it.  Its lovely, unlike anything else I own and a dream to apply.

What you see above is three thin coats, the colour and intensity of the glitter built up really well.  In fact getting the glitter on my nails was not an issue in any way.  It glided on.  Drying time was average.  I used Essie all-in-one as a base with a thick coat of Seche Vite. And let me tell you, it wore like iron, completely like iron.  Brilliant. Like all polish with glitter in, care and a bit of time is needed to remove it in its entirety.

You can keep up to date with some of the DIVINE forthcoming releases from HARE polish by checking out the blog here, on the etsy HARE polish shop (where international shipping is available) and Facebook.  Let me know what you get!

KBShimmer -Showgirl

Today I have my second recent KBShimmer purchase to show you and I hope you will think that this is just as lovely as the last one.  This is Showgirl, a gorgeous black based polish packed with glitter in pinks, purples and silver in all sort of shapes.  I think I am developing a bit of a thing for coloured polishes and glitters… and with the quality of these I can recommend them enough!

As you can see above it is just simply gorgeous.  Colour builds up exceptionally well and is opaque within two coats.  A couple of the nails needs three coats, so what you see above is three coats on all nails.  If you were a bit heavier handed you could probably get away with it.  The glitter coverage is wonderfully even, it truly does come out of the bottle without you having to chase any glitter pieces.  It does dry ever so slightly bumpy, well it does have glitter in it…. and you can sort that with a good top coat.  I used Essie All-in-One Base Coat and use Seche Vite for that shiny top finish.

You can order from the website (US Only), order from the etsy site (US only) or order from Harlow&Co (International).  I ordered from Harlow&Co and was delighted with the speedy shipping. I now have my eye on a couple from the Fall collection, wow, am just smitten with these lovelies.

KBShimmer – Vegas Bomb

I have a glitterbomb of a polish for you today.  This is the lovely Vegas Bomb by KBShimmer.

This is a neon yellow base colour with tonnes of glitter in so many different colours.  In the bottle it looks green but on the nail it is definitely yellow.  It builds up really well on the nail and the colour is so unusual, what you see above are three thin coats.  It goes onto the nail surprisingly well considering the amount of glitter in the polish.  It dries well and evenly as long the coats are even.  There is no fishing about for glitter with this one.  It will be a little bit bumpy but I used a thick coat of Hong Kong Girl top coat and it has a smooth glossy look.

For my first KBShimmer I am completely thrilled with this one, I have a couple more to show you over the next couple of weeks.  If you fancy getting your nails onto some, you can order from the website (US Only), order from the etsy site (US only) or order from Harlow&Co (International).  I ordered from Harlow&Co and was delighted with the speedy shipping.

What KBShimmers are must haves??
